1F83 WAT - GLD Routing

Hi all,

Just out of interest, is anybody able to advise on whether there is any logic behind which routing 1F83 00:33 (00:40 on Fridays and Saturdays) Waterloo to Guildford takes on any given day of the week?

One of the turns at my depot involves passing on this service, and in my experience it seems like a 50/50 chance as to whether it'll go down the main line via Surbiton, or the long way round via Staines.

Looking on Realtime Trains, it looks like all services are going direct via Surbiton next week. Can anybody provide an insight?

1F83 is booked to run via Surbiton and Woking in the LTP, hence the 1Fxx for fast Woking via main services.

However, late night possessions on the main can cause it to divert via Staines and Chertsey. Similarly if there is a possession around Woking I would imagine that it would divert via Cobham.
