Tbf that could happen on any train. A LNR 350 sat down in Platform 2 at Rugby earlier today so having an up train stuck on the Weedon Loop is just adding to the fun.

Avanti are currently holding back at Rugby so maybe they think the problem won't be too long to resolve? EDIT: Oh no, it's because 1Y14 has been stuck south of Northampton since 07.50 in the Up as well so both routes to MK blocked at the moment.

The WCML has taken one hell of a barrage the last couple of weeks.

Sorry, fixed that.
They've reset the power and still no budging, very stressed TM pacing the train on loud speaker to avanti control. Assuming the only way out is to be rescued at this point.

Current plan from driver is to drive to rugby or Milton Keynes and terminate there.

There seem to be 2 broken down trains causing problems on the WCML between Rugby, Northampton and Milton Keynes - I think one of them is LNWR 1Y14 which is the 0636 from Birmingham to Euston which is stuck just south of Northampton ( hopefully the passengers have been rescued!) for some time.

Unsure what the second train is or where it is. Anyone have more info?

An “emergency break” is something a driver needs when the brake doesn’t work.
