Are these based on original Mersey Railway designs? Obviously inspired by the London Underground totem.

Helsby has a load attached to the signal box between Platforms 2 and 3. I think they are original (why would you make a stack of replicas and attach them?) but I haven't got off to inspect them closely.

The Helsby ones conneccted with the best kept station awards and are not original.

I saw it yesterday on the train from Waterloo. It was on the side of a modern "building" maybe prefab - what I thought was the signal box but I hadn't noticed the historic one you sent a photo of ! I'm sure it was on the north side of the tracks. I've tried looking on google satellite view but can't find it exactly. Sorry.

The Station House Restaurant/Bar/Pub at Corrour, while not quite on the mainline (it's a 2 minute walk across the crossing!), has a fake Totem above the entrance to the kitchen - In the correct colour, but it's obvious it's new and fake.

Kenilworth has a totem in the waiting room/booking hall, albeit locked this afternoon.

. . .Borth has very dark brown and cream totems, again I suspect these will be more modern reproduction replacements!

. . .On the subject of non–totem Regional signage, closed stations often had these even in locations that were never known to have received totems – Hoole on the closed ex–LYR Preston–Southport line got a B.R. L.M. Region (presumably maroon!) Station Entrance sign (part visible in "Disused Stations" pictures) but this line never received totems farther north than Banks!

Picture is a screenshot off Google Streetview of the ( presumably replica ) totems at the famous place in North Wales with the ridiculously long name.

I've just seen it again. It looks like a replica. It's on the blue portacabin on the North side of the rails

Here it is- photographed today! Modern replica. I think it's on the side of the signalling centre, on the north side of the tracks opposite the old LBSCR signal box.

Oh well done ! how did you take this photo, from the train, or from the road ? I think the small writing underneath HAVANT says SIGNAL BOX
