Noticed one car of a Northern 158 (15857 something...might be 9) around the newton heath depot. it seems like its been here and there around the depot for about a month now. is one half in there for some serious engineering work or is just both the unit undergoing some sort of refurbishment??

...just abit nosey!

Probably half of 158908, the other half way is an incident on Newton Heath and is away for repair.

Its not in red and silver. NH have taken the chance to repaint and refurb the 'OK' half while the 'not good' half is being repaired.

If its been there a month and a half then IT IS 52908 from 158908.

158759 is in regular passenger service, I've travelled on it twice in the last couple of weeks, both times on Leeds - Sheffield Express service (http://jst.fotopic.net/p48411078.html). 759 is shortly to be stopped temporarily on NL to allow 58713 to be inserted.

52908 may still be temporarily carrying the number 158793 from when it was formed with 52793 before Christmas as 57793 was also damaged in an accident.
