Just a quickie... are FGW painting the 142s into Northern colours?

No. Northern are though. They are being sent up to a Northern depot for the repaint and I heard for a C6 overhaul as well, not sure if that's the case or not.

142094 - Correct, all the 142s (and 144s as I recall) were all repainted in the new paint shop at Newton Heath.

The 142s usually go to Springburn for C work, Newton Heath has been busy with C6 work on the 15x fleets.

The GW loaned sets come back north as Northern are still responsible for heavy maintenance on then, some were done at Heaton towards the end of last year.

A C6 is a heavy overhaul which involves going right through the set and lifting off bogies etc.

They are due to return in May....but as with everything on the railway it is subject to change!

142009 looks ex-works! I take it the purple may be applied later not sure if this part is vinyled. I actually quite like the livery the way it is

All the 150/2s loaned from Northern have returned to ATW but ATW now sub hire 2 to FGW everyday with the sets returning to Cardiff Canton every night. Very unlikely that LM will release any 150s by May.

When you say Northern you mean FGW? Ah so it is down to only two because at one point it was 4 or 5

Yes I do. It was 5 but it went down to 4 a while ago. A SWT 158 has been loaned since then to provide enough units. The SWT 158 is still on loan Mondays-Saturdays at the moment.

They are back. FGW had 267, 278, 279 and 281. ATW now hire out a random two units each day.

Another comment says 143s will return to Bristol bar one which wasn't aware of.

Defo won't get pink doors, a FGW sticker perhaps - but unlikely.

The 143s will return to SPM as their home base, for use on W-s-M - Bristol Parkway services and what not.

There are no current units really. They can and do change every day.

Would seem that they aren't getting new seats but they are getting smartened up.
