Wasn't the one I was thinking of. I was thinking of that waiter in The Simpsons, in the episode entitled something like 'Homer And The Mob', where Homer becomes a bodyguard and takes the mayor to a restaurant:
Homer: Excuse me, do you have a table for the mayor?
Waiter: Yyyyyyyyyyes!
Homer: Why do you talk like that?
Waiter: I had a strrrrrrrroke!

Oh, that's a fair comparison then. SWT's fleet judged by someone who has been on one twice on two fairly short journeys, compared to people who live on the network...

In all fairness, I don't have much experience on 444s because they don't operate anywhere near me. I do plan to do some more 444 bashing when the chance arises, this will be on a Megatrain bash to Pompey sometime later this year.

If it is I'll walk away and go somewhere else. Pure and simple. I refuse to get a 442, in the same way I refuse to board a 222 (I made the same promise back in September 2006 - if if were a 222 I'd give up my tickets and go spotting around London instead of doing the MML).
Call me immature if you will for having such opinions and such, but I won't travel on something I don't like! If that means my HT 222s lists remain completely blank for all eternity then so bloody be it!

So going on that theory, u wont travel on 220s/221s? as there are nioen on the same train!!!

I will do a Voyager, that I have little problem with (unless there's a booked HST/loco-hauled run doing the same route). Blame me for all eternity if you will after I make this statement:
On occasions (this much I stress to add and make clear) I like Voyagers. On a rare occasion I will actually go out of my way to ensure I get a Voyager vice anything else. On this basis, one day I plan to do the Penzance - Dundee Voyager run.

You have just completely lost me...
Pioneers/Meridians/Voyagers are basically the same train... what are you going to do when the HSTs disappear on MML?

Voyagers are much better than Meridians and Pioneers!
EDIT: As for what I'll do when HSTs finish on the MML, I'll just have to avoid it, getting buses and whatever to get to the stations instead.

Its a good policy by me, i hope never to step a foot on a 442 again. If through unusual circumstances, then i must board a desiro within the same day!

What's the difference what turns up or not?? I'd rather get on a replacement bus than be late for something never mind if it's a 442 or 222 or watev.

Nathan, good plan. I'm like that with a lot of stuff. If I got, say, a 180 instead of a HST I must also try to get a HST in too! Didn't work on the 10th of December 2006 though...:evil2:
I will add that the time when I vowed to throw away my tickets and do London instead was a trip JUST to do the MML on a HST. I knew I had a 222 back, so if it weren't a HST up I wouldn't have gone. I wouldn't have booked tickets, or for that matter gone to London full stop, otherwise.
