So, is that maybe the one additional three car Class 185 unit, running three times (each way) through Sheffield, on a Saturday?

1000 extra seats is not hard to achieve, it’s maybe just 2/3 extra services or a few doubled up trains per day.

Modern Railways (May issue) has already mentioned this in the usual twice yearly round up of the national timetable changes.

1000 seats is roughly six extra doubled up trains per day, so three in each direction. Depending on scheduling they can probably do that with one more unit!

I'm surprised they didn't say 1 million extra seats on Saturdays over the next 20 years
