sorry to hijack this thread but i have a similar situation for mon 5th got tickets from sheffield to tamworth which is split sheff/derby & derby/tamworth both are off peak valid for any route the only way i can make the journey is to re-route via stockport & crewe, will i be ok or need to buy...

it's just a standard off peak return but 1 must be passing through hudds & the other through sheff not sure if i selected seats for a preferred train even though i can use tickets on later trains they'd allow me to use a different route if i got delayed to get home quicker

it was a standard return, sheffield to leicester, change at derby,tamworth, (stopping in atherstone) nuneaton onto leicester, £26, using east mids trains, cross country and london mids, red spotted threw up this price, others didn't throw any options up at all other than sheff-leic direct...

just booking a train from sheffield to leicester, i need to go via atherstone and it comes out at £26ish for us, however if i was to just buy sheff-ather it come out at £40ish £14 more for a much shorter journey using the same trains?
