Hey, has anyone heard of or got experience with signallers who work 12 hour shifts (nights and days) being able to stay in their current job on days only? Is this a reasonable adjustment that could be asked for? I’ve recently been diagnosed with a medical condition (awaiting meds to be...

Hello. If you are a signaller do you have to disclose new medical conditions? No medication necessary. I’ve tried searching connect and the forums but can’t find anything that states you must. Thanks in advance.

Hey, As far as I’m aware there is Bridlington, Seamer, Weaverthorpe, Gristhorpe, Kirkham Abbey, Lebberston, Malton, Strensall and I believe maybe Barton Hill.

Closer to home the better of course. But not everyone can be that lucky. When I first started I had a 56 minute commute on a 8hr shift pattern and that’s if there was no road closures or diversions along the motorway. But there were no other vacancies closer to home. I now work a signal box 10...

Driffield is grade 3, Beverley grade 4 and Hessle road and hull paragon are grade 5’s :) I was also hired as a grade 2 then during/after signalling school you just apply for whatever roles are available. The minimum grade for a signaller is grade 3 in this area. Grade 2 is crossing boxes :)

Hi guys. Bit of an odd one, I’m quite a new signaller and I’ve been placed on some medication that needs to be checked by occ health to allow me to work alone. I’m awaiting a call from them to book me in an appointment at York. What are the rules regarding this and rosters? Should this be...

Great thank you, what do you think the chances are of a LOM authorising you going from a full time signaller to a job share? I guess they’d prefer not to.

Hi everyone. Just out of curiosity has it ever been known for there to be a signalling role part time or as a job share at all? Or is that a big no no. Doesn’t seem to be a thing?

I personally drove. I found it easier as then I could leave home at whatever time suited me on the Sunday and come home whenever too. Nothing ever got mentioned to me about this not being preferred. You can claim back your mileage too

Hey, I don’t know if your the same as me but when I was recruited on future oppurtunities my contract said Knottingley SB which doesn’t exist anymore. When I asked my LOM it was just down as a base for the purpose of hiring and creating a contract of employment with no intention of ever working...
