I found out within 2 days that I had passed my MMI, however, as previously stated, it then also was followed up by the information regarding trainee depot driver due to internal process changes. That being said, having responded, I haven't heard anything since.
Unfortunately the railway isn’t your typical industry. Patience is one of the greatest values you can possess trying to get in, especially into a drivers role… if you’re lucky, months, worst case, years.
My condolences for the loss of your son
This is actually an interesting point, which I would also be curious to find out if they are doing the same at GA. Imagine being a depot driver for 5 years, your psychometric results now being out-of-date, and to become a mainline driver, you have to re-do it. I've completed mine, while it was...

I'm happy to go through the...
Passed Stage 1 & 2 now, but the revelation email regarding the new progression requirement from Depot driver to Mainline driver came about 5 minutes post Stage 2 confirmation email.
I kept seeing so much about Cambridge not having depot drivers, that I am not entirely sure what to expect. Are...
An email I received today regarding Trainee Train Driver - Cambridge
It states the following:
"The process has changed in that any trainees are now required to start as a Trainee Depot Driver and after a certain period of time in the role, can then be considered for a trainee mainline train...
Just a heads up for anyone going for the trainee train driver roles, recent changes to GA’s recruitment process means you must now start as a depot driver and then you will be considered for a mainline role when one becomes available.
Quoted directly from the assessment invitation email:
“Please ensure you have booked your slot as soon as possible as these are available on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS, if you are unable to attend, please contact us immediately otherwise your application will be withdrawn from the...
