They should still be valid then, might be worth querying with them. They may mean that you just need to re-do the application section and not the assessments potentially
Vision wise its your standard reading off the chart with both eyes and then again covering each eye test. There is a failure point, im similar to yourself where one eye is worse than the other and actually discovered I needed glasses during the medical.
I was basically told that my bad eye on...
It is policy, you have to be able to prove that you can attend the location without using public transport (this includes the use of taxis). It's a bit misleading as you don't have to "drive" per-se as being within cycling distance would be acceptable as well, but yes, you do need to prove that...
You definitely need to revise and learn the content. Week 1, being multiple choice, is nothing like the rest, which are 2 papers, one of multiple choice and then the second which is all open ended, especially when needing to hit that 80% pass mark. You'll be given a set amount of time to do...
The route you're working on doesn't matter to where you are sent to IST, they do try to keep it within the route, but it could be anywhere. The class before mine for Wessex was held in Glasgow, for example, the one before that was in Ipswich. Mine was held in Basingstoke itself...
Interview wise, depending on who does the interview, as much info as you can find about Network Rail itself as possible, especially around the safety. All the slogans and rules they use they like to hear.
Learn the areas that the box covers, what stations and how they all connect...
Fast answer: Yes. Once qualified they generally require you to stay for X year(s)
How many years however depends on each specific TOC, I've generally seen around 1 or 2 years as the norm
Mine personally was a few years back, however we're recruiting heavily at the depot and all our applicants are being put through the order above. We've got another group coming through their depot interviews in the next week or so and all of them are doing the MMI as the final step and have only...
Assuming it hasn't changed recently, the MMI is always the very last thing you'll do with SE. You'll do the psychometrics first, depot interview & medical next then MMI right at the end
Can't speak much for Orpington personally, i know they do cover a lot of grove park duties (sign on at Orpington, travel to grove park and take a train from there) as well as their own work. They also have some cover work for thameslink out of Orpington.
I belive the 54k is including the...
Whilst your training its around 28k in the school rising to around 33 whilst with your instructor. When you pass out you go up to 44k for the first year before going up to 54k starting the 2nd year of being qualified.
I think now across the entire 5 week period it's fairly spread out, but the shed is definitely still the busiest one of the three during the day. Night work, it seems to be more the downs at the moment that ends up being the busiest. The ups is really random now, sometimes nothing happens...
I knew I'd forget something as obvious as that when you deal with it every day ahaha!
So far, there are only 2 that are particularly "bad" at the moment, but there's definitely a difference depending on who you have!
