I travel from Runcorn/Frodsham/ Acton Bridge to the SW quite often and I really do not like changing at Birmingham New Street, i'd much prefer a direct service. If I can get a connection at Stafford or Wolverhampton that is much better, although this doesn't always come up as a ticketing option...
Indeed it was. I used to work for American Express Travel at Runcorn ICI, we issued a huge amount of rail tickets from Runcorn and Hartford for business travels at ICI in Northwich and Runcorn. The stopping services at Hartford travelling to London was very popular with our clients.
Unless you are going 1st class on XC , I would go via London. Standard on XC is very often ridiculously overcrowded, nowhere for luggage. It's pretty unpleasant.
The area which misses out now and really should be covered by Merseyrail is between Hunts Cross via Widnes into Warrington. Highly populated but not receiving a Metro Style service which Merseyrail could offer. Part of this area is also within the Liverpool City Region. I also feel the Northern...
I think passengers from Liverpool have waited far long enough for a direct service. TFW promised it years ago, its only just come to fruition. As far as I know the LCR contributed for the Halton Curve to be fully functional . So it should definitely be running. Liverpool is the largest big...
When ever I use the service they are certainly very busy when I get on at Frodsham both to Chester or Liverpool. This link via the Halton Curve has taken off, it was just a pity the full potential of linking Liverpool and Wales took so long to get going.
TFW must have taken some notice of the crowding of the new through service , Llandudno to Liverpool, as I have now experienced some trains being 3 cars not 2. This does make a big difference and as a fairly frequent user from Frodsham to Liverpool it is most welcome. The link is definitely...
I went to Addiscombe once and used Woodside a few times. I also went from Elmers End to Sanderstead not long before the route closed. Neither of these branch lines were busy when I went on them, but I presume the Addiscombe branch was the busier of the two ?
My regular flight route is Liverpool to Faro. Ive used all the airline options, Ryanair,.Jet2 and Easyjet. Its been Easyjet more this year, as the timings have suited me best, but it varies from year to year. Liverpool Airport ive always found very good to use, security is very swift. My last...
There has been lots of discussion about bringing Merseyrail to Liverpool Airport, and whilst it would be most welcome, its all down to cost. The easiest access is a spur from the main Liverpool to Crewe railway line, East of that airport, as it mainly farmland. If it was going come directly...
The seven car trains dont seem as adequate as a 9 pendolino, but it does offer the South Parkway option and 1 per day each way for Hartford so these are pluses. Some of the Pendolino services are 11 cars at least. I think the Liverpool route will grow and need more capacity sooner rather than later.
Just got on the 10.56 Frodsham to Liverpool ( from Llandudno), and we have 3 cars. Trains still full up and people standing, but better that 2 cars. Looks like this will be a very popular service. Passenger next to me travelling Bangor - Liverpool.
