I have had this trouble on several occasions at Bedford. The ticket barriers are programmed not to accept off-peak tickets until what I understood to be 5 minutes before the first service on which they can be used.
Inevitably, there is then a crush to get to the platform when the tickets can...
Personally, I find lights on trains far too bright when it's dark outside, but that's probably my eyes:lol:
I did travel on a Chiltern train into Marylebone once which had no lights on: that was for sure an interesting experience!

I had a look at buying another one - whilst the original only cost £6.95, a new one would cost £53 as there are no advance singles left!
I think I'll just have to take a chance on it - there isn't a lot else I can do. I can try taking it into the ticket office next week and seeing what...
Well, I contacted LM just to check - the response was "well there could potentially be an issue as it looks like you've already used the ticket". There advice was to take all relevant documentation with me on the 9th and "try and explain it clearly to the guard"...
Actually, that wasn't the point of my original post - the point was to seek opinions on whether it was something I should contact LM about before travelling again on the 9th. I know it's against the grain these days, but I don't blame anyone - it was as much my mistake for handing over the wrong...
Thank you for your constructive comments  I can put part of the blame on my eyesight - finding the right details on these miniscule pieces of paper is not easy if you have sight problems (hence the DSB railcard!). I shall make sure I'm more careful in the future (thought that might delay...
This morning I got two lots of tickets out of the machine at Lichfield TV - one lot a return to Birmingham today, and the other lot to go to London in just over two weeks. Put them all in the ticket wallet, in what I thought was the right order, and didn't think anything of it...
Just after...
I too have been very impressed with the staff - I've used this service a lot, as well as other LM services, and have nothing but praise for all the staff. I think that they do a superb job, especially under difficult circumstances. Their Twitter feed alone shows that some staff go above and...
I've just been reading this and I read it as that if you were leaving/joining the train part way round, the ticket would get you back to your original destination (i.e. you get on at Snow Hill, leave at Worcester, and the ticket will get you back to Snow Hill on any other LM service). They're...
Tomorrow (assuming no more cable thefts!), mum and I are travelling first class on the 0641 Lichfield TV to Euston service (cheaper than standard class!). I have to admit that this is the first time we have ever been first class, and being ignorant of such things, what do Virgin provide for...
From Lichfield TV there's no difference - still 2tph, but I think that Lichfield City only gets those two rather than 4tph as per usual. Going on last year, it's a good excuse for LM to terminate delayed services at Lichfield City. I was left stranded 10 times last winter at LTV because of...
Yes, this is the one I was particularly thinking about.

I managed to find reserved seats on the 5th and 26th Nov, and booked for the latter, but I did have to do it as individual journeys for the seats to show up. Managed to get it for about £20 by...
I've been trying to book tickets to travel from Lichfield TV to Huddersfield sometime in either late October or November. I would most likely be getting there sometime after 10am, and coming away sometime after 4pm.
I've tried a variety of different dates including both weekdays and weekends...
I've been on this service twice - once last month, and once about this time last year - on both occasions it was on time at Lichfield TV. Also on both occasions, people boarded the train at both Tamworth and Lichfield TV - I wasn't aware it was set-down only.

Well, I'm happy to change these details, but if no one actually points that out, how can I know?! So far as I was concerned, the incident could have just been caused by something on the track, a mechanical problem, a passenger taken ill etc. etc. etc. etc.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
