Hi there,
Take into consideration that I did the interview about 3 years ago, so my memory could fail me, but I recall it to be mostly behavioural, and yes, quite STAR style questions. Worth to prepare some examples where you can talk about your customer service skills, ability to work according...
Out of honest curiosity this one, because I always read the redundancy of certain guards, and let me say first that I do believe that some job descriptions should definitely be updated, but how do DOO operation manages things like disabled assistance at unstaffed stations? Would maintain staff...
Congratulations on the interview outcome, first and foremost!
No much more information from inside than from outside. As much as I know, any traction training is on hold and people that were already given contracts and starting dates have been started remotely. Rest, pushed back.
I was in the...
I was contacted couple of weeks ago for an start date on the 4th of January. Last week they called me again to say that a vacancy had become available to start on the 30th of November. I will need to do the medicals and DBS checks again as these have expired.
To give you a bit of timeframe, I...
Could I ask you which depot did you apply for? I had also initially been scheduled for 11th of May having applied for Waterloo but haven’t been contacted yet....At least it’s positive to see some people down the line being contacted.
I was meant to start on the 11th of May. Honestly, I would obviously love to start as soon as possible, but as long as it goes ahead, I’m already very happy considering everything that is going on.
Good that you are in a comfortable position and this doesn’t spoil things so much.
I hope they contact everyone soon so we can have some certainty and plan ahead accordingly.
Fingers crossed...
Wow! Really sorry to hear that. Did you have starting date before all this hit?
I was meant to start early May as a Guard but was told that training would be delayed due to the current circumstances. Didn’t expect it to delay that much though.... :'(
I was meant to start my training as a Guard for SWR on the 11th of May and just received a call from HR to advice me not to hand my resignation yet if I haven’t done so as at the moment they are unable to guarantee that the training is going to start as scheduled. They said the offer of...
I think that the most likely scenario is that as soon as all this goes back to normal, the courses will restart in the order they were left. I really hope that is the case and this just means a delay in your dream career. Best of luck and stay positive.
Same situation here.
I am due to start my training on the 11th of May with SWR. My plan was to give HR a call at the beginning of April to see if there is a bit clearer picture by then.
Honestly, I’m just guessing here, but I think it’s more likely that they delay trainings rather than...
Wow!! Amazing!!
Thank you very, very much for all the guidance and encouragement. It really means a lot and I could never expect so much.
Hope I can make it useful to pass the last hurdle!
Hi there,
Thanks in advance for reading.
It is my first post here as after some time trying, I passed the assessments and got an interview for Guard with SWR.
Doing then research to prepare the interview I found out about all the industrial actions happening lately and the changes in the roles...
