Likely to retain 15x competency or due to a lack of 197s as they are working routes they werent planned to, as well as having poor availablity.
This is a ideal service to replace as starts and ends at canton. Although i regularly use this train travelling from trips away and it can be frustrating.
We have had houndreds of wildfires this summer so personally a alert asking people to avoid lighting fires is a good call. Maybe not the emergency one though...
They dont have any time left before a exam is the issue. Better chance of 153s but that would need a conversion course.
Personally id take them and put them with a 150.
How can you ride a 175 between newport and bristol when they have never served that route?
They previously worked the marches with atw and tfw and now work exeter / plymouth to penzance.
I would agree however these issues should be mostly resolved, but equally i thought they were introduced...
Unless its being used as a way to keep cardiff mainline drivers qualified on them to get them onto canton from swansea and central - as i believe they will be maintained there after the rest of the 15x fleet leaves.
So the west gets the 3 car 165s which are less suitable for the lengthy workings and are apparently less desirable within gwr as only 1 wc. That seems a bit short sighted personally.
I do hope they dont become a regular sight on the pompy service.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
