BBC reporting that heritage railways will run out of coal in 2021

How many heritage lines actually still run off this English coal? Even the article says some attractions such as the svr have switched to overseas, I've heard of a few others that already import.

Any working ex-Blackpool trams on heritage lines?

It's not a genuine blackpool tram so not sure if it's still of interest to you, but there's one based on a blackpool tram at seaton tramway, tram number 4.

Great Central Railway News and Updates

Just out of interest, how are they funding all that when other lines are unfortunately having to release desperate appeal funds. Good to hear the GCR are in a position to do so though.

The Yorkshire Steam Railway Channel 5

Yeah I think they could've made it a little clearer but as said it's probably a bit too technical , sorry if this is going slightly off topic but as much as this show is very good I do have an issue with it, that being when they show shots of one train claiming it's another one and I know I'm...

    Standees on heritage railways

It's certainly not unheard of to stand on a national network train today, and I believe it was the same under British railways, it's part of recreating the image although it may not be the nicest of experiences to stand it's no different to how it was. And preserved lines need the income, they...

    NER Railcar

I could see it was full with people standing when it pulled into the station, and on the platform there were more people waiting to get on it than there would've been space in there, decided to wait for the steam service behind it. But yeah it looked very well restored and a very...

    NER Railcar

It was running instead of a dmu, which usually runs alongside the steam locos at their steam galas, helps give an even more intensive timetable. It certainly was an interesting sight though nice to see it preserved and running, was gonna have a ride but decided it looked way too busy and...

Heritage Rail Gala date conflict annoyance

I'm not sure about the two lines in question here, but quite a few big heritage lines tend to do more than 1 steam gala a year, if that's the case you could possibly do one this time and the other later in the year. I get where you are coming from though that does sound a bit annoying but as...

    Spa Valley railway vandalism

on the morning of new year's day some mindless idiots broke into two (mark 1 I think) carriages at the line and trashed them, setting off fireworks inside the carriages, leaving boxes of mince pies and sandwiches everywhere, and a broken door where they attempted to gain entry, a fire...
