Heathrow Express is technically an Open Access Operator and so isn't part of GBR. Perhaps things will change from 2028 at the expiry of its access agreement.
The same article showing a visualisation of Lumo's Class 222 interior refresh. Existing standard class seats remain in grey, but First Class removed. The replacement standard class seats in the former FC areas look very similar to the new seating in CrossCountry's refurbished Voyager.
Don't forget that the arrival of the additional 221s from Avanti followed the departure of the HSTs, plus there must be at least one Voyager under refurbishment, so not a massive uplift in additional coaches all considered. There's also the issue of short-staffing and the working arrangements...

A (somewhat low quality) snapshot taken from a presentation given by CrossCountry to the Rail North Committee earlier today as recorded in this YouTube video - see from 26 minutes in...
These images are noted by the CrossCountry spokesperson as being for illustrative purposes and are not final...

Hope Valley line electrification and reopening to Tavistock also mentioned as part of 'Network North'. Shame we couldn't have these *and* HS2 to Manchester.
The cynic in me won't be getting my hopes up as to balance spend the Government may not fund these projects until the time frame in which...
That's not for direct supply to the trains, but rather one of the intermediate stages between the supply from the national grid and the end conversion to 750v DC.
What happened to the IETs previously used for the Bristol fast services via Bristol Parkway? Would these units be available to substitute at least some of the HSTs?
