Your insight in previous posts is actually worth far more to those of us trying to secure a role as a Signaller. As someone that has failed to reach even one interview against the numerous applications I was beginning to get extremely disheartened as I was completely unsure what I was doing...
Best luck in moving forward to the next step.
I've applied for 5 roles so far and no interview. Had some really odd progress on some applications though.
My first looked like I would get an interview but got the dreaded unsuccessful email.
Application Under Review
Application Accepted...
Congratulations.
Your post has given me hope. Mind you, I haven't even managed to secure an interview yet. But 3 letters of rejection was making me wonder if I was barking up the wrong tree trying to become a signaller.
I have done everything that I can to present the best possible...
Perseverance is the only way I think. I have only received 1 rejection so far and have had to wait some time for more roles to be advertised. Then 4 come up at virtually the same time.
I too have an 18 year history in sales / office so totally understand where you are coming from.
My CV has...
I spent ages trying to second guess myself on the applications and how multiple applications would be viewed.
In the end I decided I could not risk loosing out on securing employment with Network Rail as all four applications are for 4 different boxes and 3 different LOM's yet the distance /...
I currently have 4 applications in for 4 different signal boxes. 2 I think are under the same LOM.
Currently waiting to see if any progress to interview.

I just have to be patient and go for posts as and when.
I applied earlier in the year for a local Grade 2 box and passed the online assessments, so the next stage would have been interview, only to receive the 'Sorry you have been unsuccessful' email.
Have had to wait months for more roles to come up that are in my area. Currently got applications...
Yep. Fingers crossed.
This is now my second application. I didn't even get to interview for the first, so there has been some serious polishing going on in the mean time.
Without sounding too bullish, I know I am a good candidate and have lots to offer. It's just getting the foot in the door...
Hi Curtis.
I have now been to see my daughter, again, and used her Windows based PC. I have uploaded a pdf and it is as perfectly formatted as I think it should be. The preview still provided a really poor view. But when I clicked on the document hyperlink on my account the downloaded pdf was...
I only have a Chromebook so the document has to downloaded from Google Drive as a Word emulation. That looks fine on my laptop.
I have downloaded my CV as a pdf but when I use the preview tab on my account it will not preview at all.
Think this could be a message to the IT team at Network Rail
Hi ladies and gents.
I hope someone can offer some advice here. I have uploaded my CV to my account. The thing is, no matter what I do, it will not upload cleanly or in the format that I laid it all out to when I look at the preview.
Then to add insult to injury when I download the file I have...
