Class 444s in First Class, 458/4s in both Standard and First, and the refurbsihed EMR and XC 170s all have a much larger seat-back table than the FISA LEANs on the FLIRTs and 196s. If I recall correctly this larger design of table was able to support my laptop with no problems. Considering the...
You are correct that the 196s don't have armrests between the seats. The refurbished XC 170s use the same FISA LEAN seat frame (slightly different cushions, though), with armrests; it's just that WMT didn't specify armrests for the 196s. The Voyager refurbishment renderings show the seats with...
Thanks for the detailed explanation, that makes sense. I definitely agree that the feed has a lot of “gotcha”s from my own experience trying to implement it, so it doesn’t surprise me that you don’t trust the vehicle data!
I don't know much about the inner workings of Know Your Train, for all I know it could use a completely different feed for the TOCs that were added before the public release of the Gemini allocations data feed. But I do know that the Gemini feed does provide the unit numbers for the TfW active...
Next to the doors there is some light grey vinyl plonked over the bottom navy stripe on the livery to alleviate this.
(Image shows the aforementioned vinyl next to the door on an SWR Desiro)
The font is different between LNR and WMR signage but otherwise it's the same design just with different colours. The signage in the new part of University is RA2, other than the "University" station name signs on the platform. Wolverhampton moved over to RA2 a few years back as well, but I...
From what I've heard the plan is that there will still be some units operating to Birmingham, so I'd assume the busiest services will remain DMU operated.
Pretty much everything has changed, you can see some images from my post here: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/stations-rebranded-to-great-british-railways-design-rail-alphabet-2.220286/post-7235596
Reported in the Alstom new fleets Facebook group that the 730s will no longer be starting tomorrow on Euston-Birmingham, since further validation checks need to take place.
EDIT: Seems to be wibble, I reckon there must’ve been a breakdown in communication somewhere.
I believe there is (or was) an issue with the hill hold system where the system engages after the train has just started moving. At least that's what I overheard from a guard instructor training up some guards on the units a while back.
It's really still the Virgin livery on the intermediate carriage sides, if I recall correctly all of the ex-Avanti units (bar 221101) still have the ">><< ... >><<" on the carriage sides from their days with Virgin.
Several Northern drivers already sign that route which should also make it easier.

Stoke-Stone Jn is 90mph PS max, Stone station itself is 25mph, the Norton Bridge flyover is 100mph, so I reckon 323s might be ok.
I believe it was a way of getting past SRT restrictions, something about only being able to have one set of SRTs for a class of train on each section of track. When the 350s were modified to run at 110mph, the Class 506 was chosen as a way to get around this.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
