I've just noticed that there is a direct weekday train from Northolt Park to Birmingham, ex Marylebone at 1534, yet I can't get booking engines to give me a fare. Any idea why?

It only seems to be in the timetable for today?
Can someone please explain why when I click through to the Tickets section on this site the Journey Planner box is always greyed out? I am using Chrome on a Mac.
Re codes it's Malvern Link to Woodlesford. Re the Elizabeth Line bit I didn't realise I could have entered my start station as Hayes and Harlington and the fact that I have a Freedom Pass when I booked. I just started from Reading as I knew I cld get there for nothing. Thanks for the advice...
For the first time I have used the forum's ticketing service and have what I consider to be a very good deal. I have a couple of questions though. Apologies if they have been answered before.
1. My first ticket is a GWR Promo 1st Advance for the 12.19 from Reading to MVL next Tuesday. I am...
I'm puzzled as to why Network Rail/GWR have cancelled the West Ealing - Greenford trains this week whilst there is still a service on the Central Line between White City and West Ruislip with the stations open?
Does anybody have any experience of the Greenford National Rail branch during Underground strikes. Do they normally keep Geenford open to service the trains to West Ealing. I have to get to Denmark Hill on Thursday morning 11 Sept by 1115 and am planning Greenford depart 0915, West Ealing...
What's needed here is a full inquiry into the cause of the failure, ie what went wrong and why, which should be made public. As well as the technical failure of the signalling it should also include the arrangements in place to deal with an event like this for passengers. Questions should be...
There used to be two tracks. One has been out of use for many years and it looks as though they've finally got round to removing it. I think the single track is still in use between South Ruislip and Greenford. Not sure about between Greenford and Acton. There's a speed restriction near Northolt...
I see that Chiltern services into and out of Marylebone have ground to a halt yet again. Does anybody have inside knowledge as to why the signalling system/track keeps failing on the route from Neasden South Junction. It seems to be a weekly occurence.
Silly me. re the original posts abt Bowers Row. I stupidly forgot to check Yorkshire Collieries 1947 - 1994 by Eddie Downes. Despite the book's title Eddie includes significant historical detail about the collieries he covered. The book includes Allerton Main and Allerton Bywater and so I was...
The 6 inch maps surveyed 1845/6 give a much better understanding of the locations of the various pits on the Lowther/Kippax estates. The ones marked old coal pit may have been bell pits, if not they were probably very shallow. Attached is a notice from August 1840 which strongly suggests to me...
I think the answers are as follows:
1. Baker and Shannon are probably referring to the name of the opencast site as it was known by the NCB. See National Archives.
Reference:
COAL 94/140
Description:
Issued audit reports: Opencast Executive headquarters; Bowers Row and Astley Staithes...
As far as I am aware there has never been a comprehensive history of the coal mining activity in the area to the north of the River Aire in and around Swillington and Allerton Bywater. From my own research the gist is as follows. It’s possible there was excavation of coal near the surface in the...
