Agree. I once booked a restricted fare on National Express, when I got the confirmation I saw I’d booked the wrong date. Immediately phoned them and they cancelled the incorrect ticket and issued me a new one with no penalty.
Referencing not worrying about cards with small balances, my old card that I used before switching to contactless isn’t really “lost”, as it’ll still be in the house somewhere, but it had/has a negative balance as I recall….think I last used it on a bus and triggered “one more journey” mode.
Watching this weeks episode and the comment of “since when are they checking tickets on the busses”?…..I was checked on a bus last weekend which was honestly the first time I’ve been checked on a bus in at least fifteen years if not longer.
I’ve found about four or five Oyster cards that I can recall over the years, all of them being kids Zip cards and all but one in the street. In a couple of cases I was able to track down the owner through local social media and arrange for them to be returned. In one case I handed it to a bus...
Journey times on SL7 seem to be longer since the switch to electric busses. Just seems to trundle along at a much slower speed. On a Saturday morning I could pick up the 7:30 bus at Carshalton High Street and be at Hatton Cross by 825-8:30 for an H26 to Bedfont Lakes parkrun. Today, with similar...
The above quote is from last November, after that it went quiet but I’ve started receiving the calls again, one yesterday lunchtime and one this morning. Anyone have any further information on these calls?
Have they published a list of which TG Jones stores are closing? Worcester Park and Wimbledon are going and apparently the closing down signs went up in Kingston, but have now been taken down again as that store is now continuing to trade until at least the end of the year.
This reminds me of a social media post I saw a while ago now, two mothers with buggies were waiting at the bus stop, when the bus arrived there were two buggies already in the wheelchair/buggy space, so the driver refused to let either of the mothers on. One of them then walked to the previous...
Yes. They seem to have combined the overnight London to Newcastle and London to Sunderland services. There was a 22:00 to Newcastle and a 23:00 to Sunderland, the latter called at, among others, Doncaster, York, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Hartlepool and would reach Sunderland shortly after...
Watching this weeks episode, the police became involved and arrested a guy who was apparently wanted for theft, yet at the end it said he was released as it was mistaken identity.
I’m no expert on how they arrive at the judgements, but it does seem to me that some of the fines and costs issued...
Doh! As usual I seem to have checked the website and completely overlooked the info I wanted when it was right in front of me….happens to all of us I guess.
Thanks for replies.
I turn sixty next week. Given that you may buy a senior railcard online from fourteen days before your birthday, I have already purchased one and have downloaded and stored it on my phone. Can I apply it to tickets for travel dates before my birthday, or only afterwards?
For comparison, the...
No need to cut plans short, just turn up for your original time and don’t mention any email, they have to make arrangements to get you to your destination. I’ve occasionally had emails turn up in spam when they’ve been landing safely in my inbox for donkeys years and the sender is on my safe...
Cheers, I’ll post another update tomorrow.
Update: been on the phone with TFL but haven’t really got anywhere. He could see £1.75 from last Thursday outstanding on my account and said he’d try charging it again but it still won’t go through. He’s tried to charge it four times and I’ve now got...
Maybe I spoke too soon. I’d done a brief search on the ‘net for reports of others suffering issues but couldn’t see anything, hence my post late last night that it looked like a one off. This morning my card has declined again for the £1.75 from yesterday for the journey home (the morning...
Thanks for responses. My main point and concern was whether this was a one off technical failure on the part of my bank, or whether others had had payments from yesterday declined, which might indicate a more widespread issue. It would appear, however, to be the former.
Got up this morning and found a notification from my banking app, “there was a technical glitch which prevented your payment of £5.25 from being made. Please try to make the payment again”. Alongside was an email from TFL saying my card was blocked as it declined when they tried to collect...
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
