The Accumulated wisdom on here , it now makes sense. I was trying to get from Leicester to Rhyl after the football. Ended up with an interesting Leicester-Derby-Tamworth-Stafford-Wolves-Shrewsbury-Chester-Rhyl trip. The 2 min xfer at Wolves was fun. My sympathies to the family of the deceased...

The rumour was person hit between Stoke & Macclesfield. What I found odd was why this stopped everything on the wcml north of Stafford towards Crewe and Derby to Stoke. Why would multiple lines be affected?

Just wondering what caused the chaos last night. Nothing from Derby to Stoke, nothing north of Stafford up WCML to Crewe or to Stoke.

Princess Pier route through Greenock still has some track in places.

North Wales Mainline is more of a big branch line but cracking scenery. Gets me to football if it's a Saturday match at the correct time of day. Just don't mention the late train cattle class 2 car 175 run from Chester.

If there's anything going spare transferring a few to North Wales would be good. The overcrowding is stupid at times.

Bournemouth isn't too close to the town centre. The Victorian gentry didn't want smelly steam engines disturbing the peace.

The stock has been hammered for ages & needs some temporary stuff hiring in to bring services up to a reasonable std. It's always made worse when the egg chasers are playing at Cardiff

There was a plan to join Bmth East & West with a Central Station near the current town hall. The great & good of the Borough complained and the line was routed around the then edge of town with the new Central on the edge of town & West a terminus which ultimately killed it off.

Most of WCML in the Midlands...why bother staying awake. Lincoln to Peterborough....Flat, Flat & more flat, even the flat bits are flat. Doncaster to cleethorpes...more flat stuff
