Holland had a 49 euro monthly off peak pass during the summer. It's subscription style, but you can cancel. Peak is a couple of hours morning and evening on weekdays. Looks pretty good value. If only we had something similar.... (Edited to change weekly to monthly)

A lot of elderly people are socially isolated and lonely. I'd like to see free off peak rail travel for all, not just Londoners. As people have already said, it's little marginal cost. Over 60s is a nice perk, but once given, it's politically expensive to remove. Free off peak rail travel...

A "heat map" of (number of passengers) along each rail line would be interesting. You might not be able to derive it from this data though. It might show some commuter lines being much busier than higher profile main lines.

The core problem is not enough housing. We need more homes, literally millions of them, but no Government has the will to allow this. Until then, only the poor on benefits and the rich can afford to have children

Experienced rail users can get quite a discount (in this case, by using a ticket website to buy a B to A return ticket, and just using the return), but that equates to a tax on new/inexperienced rail users.
