Delay Repay query - late train and a cancelled service

So just to clarify, I should claim for 1 hour delay from XC. It is that I can just forsee XC rejecting this, stating that the two cancelled Chiltern Services, plus the subsequent late runing service were not their fault.

Delay Repay query - late train and a cancelled service

A bit complicated this one, hence why I've come here for further advice. Relates to a Journey from Reading to Oxford Parkway. Oxford Station is 5 minutes minimum connection time. Journey should of been: 11:45 XC service to Leeds, arr Oxford 12:08 12:15 Chiltern Service from Ox, Arr 12:20 Ox...

    Carousel Buses (Go-Ahead group)

Would that be Red Rose and Red Line buses?

    Carousel Buses (Go-Ahead group)

You're joking! Those Buses were ready for the scrapheap by the time Arriva pulled out of operations. Can remember being on one that leaked badly during wet weather, rendering many seats unusable. Surprised some are still in use.

    Carousel Buses (Go-Ahead group)

Whatever happened to Arriva's beyond knackered fleet of Mercedes Benz buses that used to be used on the old 800/850 route. To keep on topic, Carousel are doing a far better job than Arriva ever did. It is just a shame they decided to get rid of the 'Any 5 Day' tickets.

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

I still very much maintain that Oval is a poorly implemented idea. Those who cannot see past the 'benefits' of Contactless, still fail to grasp this comes at the cost of axing the cheapest fares. I also argue it will see fare evasion increase. Some people will do contactless on the outward...

    Uber ticketing

Yes, I had this issue too, for a ticket purchase on Monday. I had to do a double take at first, however it did indeed deduct an amount from 'Uber Money' ( gift card balance) AND the same amount from debit card which showed as 'pending' in my bank account. When I have checked again today, the...

Seem to be quite a few in London, near to key London Stations. Also in Bristol and Bath.

    Uber ticketing

I agree. Also believe that is a one time, multi week promo code, so a new one does not need to be inputed, or claimed every week. Plus it it worth checking the Eats section as there can be some good deals on 'pick-up' options. For example: Some Wendy's branches recently had a BOGOF offer on...

    Uber ticketing

Having had no response, or action via the online form in the past, I'll be calling in the future - including for the two previous transactions (detailed in a post dated 18th July) I've still not been credited for. 1787744605 ------------------- A bit of added benefit to the Uber One...

All cross country services suspended 23/08/26

Can anyone provide more context on this service that was running yesterday by Chiltern Railways. It appeared these Chiltern services replaced all the usual Sunday GWR stopping services to Banbury. Is this a new service, a trial service, or one that was put together last minute due to XC...

The cost of living agenda - how should the railway contribute ?

Maybe if more effort was put into tackling fare evasion, now estimated at £350-£400 million a year, would help the railways finances somewhat.

The cost of living agenda - how should the railway contribute ?

There are plenty of things the Government funds or subsidises that I don't agree with, yet I am forced to contribute towards. So the tired argument of taxpayers who don't use the railways being forced to subsidise them is utter rubbish and now somewhat boring to listen to. Most Governments...

    Uber ticketing

Has a one found the seat reservation option not to work? I booked a journey using XC at the weekend, selected the seat reservation option, yet my ticket did not have a seat reservation stated. When I was on the train, I did notice that seat reservations were working. So must be an issue...

    Uber ticketing

Three rail journeys made last week, on Fri, Sat and Sun. Friday and Saturday's journeys have been credited, and were on Tuesday (Friday's) and Wednesday (Saturday's). Sunday's hasn't been. From my previous experience, if a journey hasn't been credited within a week, it is unlikely to be...

What changes could be made to services on the Waterloo–Reading line?

What stations were not stopped at to achieve a 59 minute service between Reading and Waterloo? Nowadays, it takes exactly an hour to go from Earley to Richmond.

What changes could be made to services on the Waterloo–Reading line?

Is there no scope for line speeds to be increased to 80, or even 85mph in places? There are several fairly long stretches of straight(ish) track. Wokingham to Bracknell Staines to Feltham/Twickenham. Better use of the Barnes to Waterloo four track section as fast/slow lines. Plus increase...

Is there a delay in Crosscountry Delay Repay claims being investigated?

I've currently got a delay repay claim with XC that was submitted on 21st June - and is still waiting to be looked at. I thought there was supposed to be a maximum 10 day turnaround for delay repay claims. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Not seeing that offer in the Uber App, unless this shows at the Checkout stage.

    Special Offers Discussion

No, it is in the Trainpal App. In the Railcards section. Although I suspect it will be varying discounts and amounts for different people.
