Our new ticketing site is now live! Using either this or the original site (both powered by TrainSplit) helps support the running of the forum with every ticket purchase! Find out more and ask any questions/give us feedback in this thread!
The decision has been taken partly as a result of passenger feedback (the reduced service doesn't work too well at weekends during the Christmas shopping period) and partly due to the relatively low proportion of days over the last couple of years on which leaves have caused major issues...
Thanks for the various additional comments.
- Following feedback, we're hoping to reintroduce the Northampton-Milton Keynes 'double-back' routeing and amend the times slightly to ensure a 5 minute 'connection' at Rugby for northbound services.
- With regard to the Coventry 'connection'...
Thanks for the additional comments.
The aim of the project 110 timetable is to speed up journey times and increase capacity on the WCML south of Milton Keynes where we have major crowding at peak times but no more 100mph paths. It's an innovative scheme that enables us to run a xx46 and xx49...
That's correct, but prices still very low (and Advance fares remaining unchanged).

Birmingham already gets mostly /2s. Crewe trains - in the main - supposed to be /1s already. Situation should not deteriorate as some Birminghams need flexibility of...
Thanks for all your feedback so far. Well look into the NMP-northbound via MK easement as it does seem to be a valid point.
The problem with the 8 car operation is actually about signal siting and foot/level crossing locations at locations such as Stone. We're trying to get it resolved...
The upgrades/new off-peak tickets were introduced back in May which was the first real opportunity following the enhancements to the Birmingham to London timetable in September last year (we don't tend to touch off-peak ticketing in January.
Most of our Birmingham services are 350/2s at the...
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't disputing the London Terminals issue, I was seeking clarification! As far as I can see, the confusion seems to stem from the definition of a journey.
As one of the 1st companies to offer Delay Repay, we were led to believe that the ticket constituted the journey...
Thanks for raising this.
Condition 19 states:
19. Using a combination of tickets
You may use two or more tickets for one journey as long as together they cover the entire
journey and one of the following applies:
(a) they are both Zonal Tickets (unless special conditions prohibit their...
It seems there have been some issues with certain TOCs' self-service ticket machines, but sale tickets can be collected from the ticket window in these cases. That said, the last problem area (ATW) seems to have been resolved. Whatever the case, we'll make sure we credit your online account if...
Just a quick explanation for you...
In order to show a discount 'star' next to the sale prices, we have reduced the fares by an additional 1p. Although this gives fares to the nearest penny, we decided on this course of action as it makes the sale fares even easier to see and makes no...
We encourage this sort of helpful announcement, as the vast majority of people are helped by the information, to be fair. As mentioned already, the word 'may' is important!
As the connecting services are also run by LM, the only people unable to change are those booked on Advance tickets to...
The restrictions are quite specific in that they apply to people boarding at London Euston. The key reason the restrictions were introduced was to deter leisure travellers using peak trains from Euston. At present, since most trains are less busy from subsequent stations en route, we don't have...
Hello all,
Thanks for your comments about the online sale.
We did have some Advance tickets available up to 12 weeks in the future, but these have all been snapped up, so in the interest of clarity I've changed the Ts and Cs.
Hope that's ok.
David.
Full details will be available in due course, but faster, extra trains will enable us to address capacity and pathing issues from London. The 321s will remain unless further additional trains can be procured.
Hello all,
Glad you think the Twitter feed it helpful. We didn't know exactly what we would use it for to begin with, assuming that it would primarily help to guide people to the right part of our website to answer their questions - e.g. daily shortforms, etc.
However, using a free tool...
Hello all,
As soon as we knew the position for Sunday, we removed the trains from the database, but a networkwide systems error meant our trains showed for an extra day.
That said, I wouldn't worry too much about VT's position - there's no such thing as a free lunch, as they say.
Hello all,
Just a few points of clarification which I hope may help.
The page http://www.londonmidland.com/cancellations gives an overview of which trains are being cancelled each day. It also explains why we don't simply employ extra drivers, although I'll expand a little here.
All...
