Perhaps the need for BSL interpretation is due to the excessive announcements that are added on to each train departure board... I can imagine they are quite helpful though.

Could it be that, in the guard's view, the people he let on had 'made' the train on time by virtue of them passing the first door before the doors closed? Had they just boarded (rather than head down the train) then there would not be a problem, whereas the two girls had distinctly missed doors...

I relate to this a lot - very common to do the advance up and evening flex back on the MML. Although rather than securing the deal it’s more about whether we go to the pub! Requiring advances each way does ruin that somewhat.

The DLR branch can be renamed the Misfits Line. Providing additional metro availability in a deprived area, I would assume. Quite a high density area with only buses to serve it - for much of the area it's quite a walk to the Lizzy Line.

This is all looking very bad for the ELR. The blocking by the chairman specifically seems to be getting a lot of traction. Unless this is some form of elaborate lie, his position is untenable and each day this saga continues brings greater risk of wider media attention.
