Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

In the hopes that this might help someone in the future I have an update; albeit a disappointing one. So my fight against my bank's section 75 protection, Irish Ferries and Virgin Trains were all unsuccessful. My bank successfully argued that Virgin Trains provided the service of allowing me...

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

Sorry I should never have said charge-back. I paid with a credit card and both mine and my partner's tickets were over £100 each so I should have been able to use section 75 protection if not for my bank refusing on the service of providing cheap tickets argument.

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

To answer a few questions: 1. I think the charge back was issued because I received the disputed money in my account, Virgin Trains then disputed this and my bank then removed the money from my credit card. 2. Jcollins, apparently it was wrong that the chat operative had told me I'd have...

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

Furlong, that is some incredible research! However I think they might be able to argue that technically they did offer rerouting in that they said their ferries would be running as normal after two days. "2. Where a passenger service is cancelled or delayed in departure from a port for more...

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

Yes. I am eligible for section 75 protection; however the bank during their call with me and their final letter stated that I can't use my section 75 protection on my card as Virgin Trains provided me the service of choosing and buying a rail and sail ticket. No idea how they can argue that.

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

I apologise for not providing more details in my original post and thank you all for your really helpful and insightful posts. I planned to travel from Belfast to London by Dublin but on arriving at Dublin port we were informed that due to bad weather the ferry would not be traveling that...

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Trains let me down

Bank refuses chargeback because Virgin Train claims the service they offer is price comparison for tickets. I bought a rail and sail ticket from Virgin Trains: the ferry was cancelled and the next one wasn’t due for two days and so we never arrived at our destination. Irish ferries refused...
