I'm surprised they kept Sankey open to be honest. Seeing as WAW does have the better facilities in the end. But both stations suffer the same issue with services currently.
The location some what makes sense - It's right next to a newish estate and there is a lot of houses on both sides of the station. It's a lot better than Sanky for Penketh in terms of facilities. The times I have used it, there is always quite a few people there getting on/off the train.
But...
Can't see it mentioned but Northern has basically cancelled all services in the North West this morning:

The problem is, when someones scanned my smart card. They are given two options OK and FINAL. Final being used for tickets that have finished their journey. So...
I did my normal commute of Earlestown to Manchester. Card gets scanned at Manchester on the way in and then scanned again on the way out for my journey back to Earlestown.
The issue with something not being finalised was on my journey back home when going through the manned area at Piccadilly...
Hi,
Just a quick one - Been using a Northern branded smartcard for sometime and haven’t had any issues with it. Got pulled by a person on the manned entrances at Man Piccadilly asking where I’ve come from this morning. I Explained it got scanned by staff this morning at Piccadilly this morning...
I believe the whole "if you can work from home, do so" still applies at the moment? I assume that would also be dropped at he same time they want more people to use public transport. I supposed we would have to wait for the 2m to either be dropped or reduced? As I can't see a lot of people...
