Hiya, Can anyone tell me if DB Cargo require psychometrics at the enhanced pass? I was unsuccessful last year, (failed on the grey square), but have another coming up with northern who do now require the enhanced and I'm trying to work out which parts I need to practice. Thanks in advance x

Hi all, I've recently applied for a job advertised as grade 1 signaller but know the box in question is a manned crossing. It does say on the job info 12 weeks training. After reading all the great info on here I'm a wee bit confused, if grade 1 doesn't require as much training as higher grades...

Hi, I emailed HR with a couple of questions, accommodation being one of them and they said accommodation details will be sent before the start date. I'm assuming once they have the signed contract and other assorted forms back they will get something booked.

Just received my contract today. I am going to be working out of Carlisle and start training in Manchester on 19/09/16!

There was only 3 of us, 1 person didn't show up. We were in the afternoon i don't know if they had interviewed more in the morning. I'm from Egremont and don't actually know if I'm working out of Carlisle or Workington!

Quick update, passed the medical so now just waiting for full confirmation/contract etc. Any idea when the info will be forth coming. Graz66 has your contract come through yet. L

I applied 16th July i think, was told last week I was in the talent pool then this week I've been given a start date of 19th September! I have the medical next week and although I'm overweight I should pass no problem, I've handed my notice in today!

Its for trainee conductor, interviewed last week for Carlisle but this week a position in Workington is being advertised - which is closer to where I live. If the Carlisle application is now closed surely I can make a new application?

So I received an email from Northern today to say after a successful interview I have been added to the talent pool. Do I still apply for vacancies as they come up or do I just hang on and hope they contact me. I've emailed them but obviously dont want to miss any opportunities.

Thanks everyone, The depot would be Carlisle so still a good 3 hours away. I had thought I had read somewhere it would be a hotel. Just waiting to hear if I've been successful, this is going to be a long week !
