Ah, beat me to it! Just had the same email myself :-)
There may be some truth in some of the posts about recruitment freezes (would make sense why the jobs dont start until Spring), but that old railway recruitment system is still just as glacially slow as always!

Hi guys,
No worries, I'm just suprised they've put something in so quickly!
My app is for the same position and still shows up as under consideration. Did you get an email or letter confirming the invite?
Cheers,
B
Train1992, can you confirm when you sat your assessments and for which depot please?
I think this could send people into a bit of a panic - I don't think this would this would be the one that closed last sunday. Looking at all the proof on here the recruitment is never THAT quick!
Ta,

Evening all,
Need to ask a bit od advice from you guys today as I'm in a bit of a fix!
There's a new vacancy for a Trainee Conductor at Man Picc thats come up with Northern today. I applied 6 months ago for the same position, paased the English and Maths and sat the Saville test (was that...
Hi guys,
I'm in the same boat too. I know when I applied 4 years ago I had lost all hope until I got the letter for interview.
I know what you guys mean though, and its certainly disheartening when you don't here back.
Chin up though - we never know :-)

Afternoon ladies and gents,
Out of nowhere I seemed to of picked up an interview for a Trainee Driver in the Manchester area - totally unexpected to say the least!
Theres loads of stuff here about interview advice and stuff about tests - but the email from Northern didn't mention anything...
Cheers for the info, and congtats on making the grade. You'll have to let know how it goes!
It's been a week since I did the Saville test so I'm just waiting to hear back from them now. I keep going onto the engageats to have a look to see if anythings changed. Do they keep that thing up to...
I applied for this too - still all quiet from them.
I did apply back in 2012 and I vaguely remember it took them an age to get back - lost all hope before the letter dropped on my doormat.
I mucked up the final SCAAT which sent me packing, but second time lucky maybe!

That element of the Saville was particularly difficult - you've already established your qualities but then to say which quality is your worst from your best?!
There does seem to be a lot of transport based jobs going around in the North West - I've applied for Driver at Manchester with...
That's the one - probably too strong of a word to describe the Saville test! With the verbal and numerical tests you generally get a feeling afterwards if you've done well or not, but with the nature of the Saville you just can't tell!
Cheers for your help - I'll keep panicking for another week...
Afternoon ladies and gents,
First time poster, long time lurker here!
Firstly, MASSIVE amount of information on this forum, and it was really good to read about the high and lows of a job on the rails!
I applied for a Trainee Conductor job in April this year with Northern back in April...
