Scottish Borders Council (SBC) has made emergency route cover arrangements after local bus firm Munro's of Jedburgh ceased trading.
The company confirmed...
Don't know for definite why they run like this through the day, but certainly last one is stabled at Motherwell and at present they can't stable 380 units so it runs as a 156. Also remember that the Glasgow to Edinburgh via Shotts are 156 services and so it could be that they may go one...

shows that Railfreight are on basic of £51k. Scotrail are on £39,200 so are probable the lowest mainline drivers.
Further to other comments, there were issues with monitors etc with DOO as the 320 cab "windows" are too small to be classed as windows (don't ask me why, I'm only the driver !). Also they did not have yaw dampers and so their top speed was only 75mph and Lanark/Carstairs timings require 90mph...
The coach may have been isolated due to a fault or someone being sick (usual problem! ). It could even have been that one of the doors behind the driving cab had to be isolated. Rules state that if this is the case the whole carriage must be isolated. All the doors would be locked and the driver...
The Motherwell drivers that have so far done their 320 training all had it done at Airdrie. I believe it was only the link 1 drivers who have been trained so far (conversion from 322s). Link 2 drivers require an extra day for the conversion course.
The 380 training is taking place at...
Doubt it very much as 320 training at Motherwell has now been stopped due to the requirement for 380 training taking precedent and all drivers requiring this to be done asap.
Hi Kev, just to give you some real life experience with First Scotrail interviews and selection. Lots of people say some bad things about first but my experience was all good. I applied for a position while employed and between my application and interview was off work with depression and was on...
Training is starting to happen but with over 80 drivers requiring training which takes either 1 or 2 days dependent on whether already passed on 322s, it could take quite a while!
Also I don't believe that the Argyle line has been passed for 320 passenger services yet, hence only ECS goes...
Not quite. I am passed out on 318s but am not authorised to drive 320s. Yoker drivers drive both but Motherwell drivers have yet to be trained. While this would just be a familiarisation course, until it's done we can't drive them. 320s are not on my licence.
Agree about Dalmarnock (only just better than Bridgeton). Every time I drive into it and have to put my window down I wonder what on earth that is I'm breathing in! Smells like 50 year old diesel and as to what that orange "gunge" is that comes out of the drain pipes onto the rail, I'm...
And the 322s run with a conductor whilst all Argyle line services are DOO. I may need corrected here but I also believe the leases may be up on the 322 units.
Regarding the 334s I think they may still run some on the Argyle services to allow drivers to keep up their traction knowledge. After...
We're taught to save power by using notch 2 till 5mph, 3 till 10mph and then 4 (EMU) and 3,5 then 7 on DMU. Most drivers follow this (or something similar) but some don't follow the guidelines (though when downloaded they will probably be asked why not). Works well except in some locations (e.g...
When I did my FSR test last year, there were around 30 of us in a room and we did the assessments together and were phoned later that day to tell us whether we had passed or failed. While doing my training at the school, all the tests we saw being performed were to much lower numbers so they may...
Hi Hiall, sorry for the delay, I didn't see your message
I hope everything went OK for you though?
The depot interview is fairly straight forward and is more focussed on doing the job rather than the formal interview which is on what type of person you are, previous experience etc...
