Very belated reply... Yes, you can can do face to face bookings at St Pancras, and personally I go there whenever possible to avoid booking fees. As an alternative to International Rail, I recommend Rail Canterbury. I've had issues with IR when trying to book Eurostar. The good thing with RC...- jc99
