    Nats fallen over again

Ryanair has said that its a repeat of the issue in 2023 (and that was nothing whatever to do with Russia, or Israel, which is the latest theory from the crazies, in response to Milliband's announcement).

    Global Airlines launch flights announced

Thats a slightly different market in reality, as many people want to stop for a few days in Dubai as well rather than flying direct or are going from Glasgow or Newcastle etc. A 380 flight direct in competition with BA and Virgin from LHR to Male doesn't impact any of that.

    Global Airlines launch flights announced

Indeed, there are around 10 flights a week currently, Virgin and BA, all using 787 with a few 777 flights in higher season for BA. Not sure where he thought the market was for a 380.

    Global Airlines launch flights announced

A creditor is now trying to get Global formally wound up. There's a second petition gone in and the hearing was 02 September, the result of this not having been made public as yet. The first petition was withdrawn earlier this year, presumably because the creditor was paid (or some arrangement...

There's the nearly 9 miles to the west of Keswick as well.

    Norse Atlantic: experiences and opinions?

Should be pointed out that Barbados in July/August is very definitely low season as it’s the wet season there. Would by interesting to compare loadings with say Jan/Feb, which is their peak period for tourists.

    Calmac / Northlink Ferry discussion

Modern engines that meet the emissions stadard are far more complex electronically and I suspect it wouldn't be as simple a conversion as anyone would hope for

    Calmac / Northlink Ferry discussion

I suspect the engines wouldn't meet modern emissions standards, so aren't available now.

Ryanair passenger 'sucked out of smashed cabin window up to his shoulders’

Sure I saw something about feathers and bird remains being found in the engine as well.

TransPennine Express checking the appetite for charging for seat reservations?

Given the many routes that the units work they can't possibly guarantee seat direction. They just won't offer that as an option. 1786375221 I frequently use off peak returns for work purposes and always reserve both ways. I'm always in the outbound seat but if my meeting finishes early or...

Air India crash at Ahmedabad on flight towards Gatwick - 12/06/2025

I suspect we can fairly safely put it down in today's list of Things That Never Happened...

WCR non heritage liveries on diesels, why?

LSL don't use appropriate heritage liveries for some of their diesels either

Ryanair passenger 'sucked out of smashed cabin window up to his shoulders’

No and wasn't referring to it as such, it's the last recorded incident of someone being partially sucked out of a window on a commercial flight.

Ryanair passenger 'sucked out of smashed cabin window up to his shoulders’

No it doesn't. It's incredibly rare which is why it made news outlets all round the world. The last recorded incident of something like this is the BA pilot nearly 40yrs ago. In terms of uncontained jet engine failures in an aircraft in commercial service at the time this is only the 6th...

    Doncaster Sheffield Airport to reopen?

As we've been through before, DSA offers them nothing but increased costs as the catchment population is entirely covered by MAN, EMA and LBA. There isn't a 'new' or untapped population/market. All flying from DSA would do would be to reduce loads on flights from the other three airports at the...

    Doncaster Sheffield Airport to reopen?

Jet2 have always said they've got no interest in it.

    Doncaster Sheffield Airport to reopen?

Not really, advertising for firefighters now using a photo of a standard fire engine and Ros Jones trying to herald the airport by showing some small plane action (experience flights for disabled people) that could easily be done, and normally is, from one of the many GA airfields around south...

Energy crisis will force TransPennine Express to ‘reassess priorities’ after £15m rise in fuel bill.

Not even remotely, and we’re only about 85% self-sufficient in cereal crops for human consumption as well.

Man in court for setting fire to fellow worker

They'll have been spent convictions so he won't have needed to declare them unless for a job requiring standard or enhanced DBS.
