Penalty Fare after boarding delayed earlier train with ticket for later train

The question is when did you buy your ticket. Its valid for use on any train, but only if it was purchased before the departure of the train were on from Coventry

    invalid railcard

This post is very confusing. Did you have a ticket (regardless of what it is) or not? Did you have a railcard (regardless of its type) or not?

Railcard purchased tickets without Railcard discount - fined !

On any of the ticketing apps, if you select a railcard, then a train where that railcard is either not valid or its cheaper to purchase without it, then the app normally removes it. Therefore, if this person has been stopped and the railcard is on their ticket, they have selected a different...

Is this Merseyrail Penalty Fare sign accurate?

    Fair enough, happily corrected

Is this Merseyrail Penalty Fare sign accurate?

Yes, Merseyrail, like TfL, do not accept eTickets, any tickets purchased for or with travel on the MerseyRail network should be a collection code.

Advice needed - SWR/TfL Oyster photocard misuse

We could really do with seeing what you were issued. However, if it's as you say, and you were issued a UFN and paid it, that would be it from SWRs end. However, I would be on the lookout for contact from TfL, who will want to know, and potentially want recompense for, the misuse of the Oyster...

    CrossCountry Alleged Fraud Investigation

How much were the original tickets, we may be able to work out what was selected. To be honest, if it's the 16-17 Saver (or the JobCentre Plus) which gives a 50% discount, I would probually say that is not really a mistake, as the 16-17, and the 26-30 can't really be confused. Can she prove she...

Accidentally Bought the Wrong Railcard Ticket

The word accidentally is doing some heavy lifting there as the selection of the 16-17 Saver, and the Network Railcard are so far away in the list that "accidentally selecting" the wrong Railcard is unlikely. That being said, please do upload a copy of the paperwork

    Northern - Durham Coast route

They should take your complaint, but it depends what you asked for. If you said something like "I want to know how the coach driver and staff member is being dealt with" then you are not entitled to that information

Basic information on a penalty fare notice

Without seeing the notice issued, I would assume in relation to 2 that its the type of ticket held, in this case, a child ticket. In order for the experts here to help, could you upload a copy of the notice with personal information redacted, and if you still have the ticket, a photo of that as...

Need Help ::: Digital Fraud Investigations :::

Right, so they got your details from Trainline, which the railway is allowed to do, as you were the one that purchased the ticket. Basically your so called friend has got you in trouble. I would suggest emailing them back with your friends details so they can chase him for use of the fraudulent...

Greater Anglia / ITAL £12k demand after Staff Oyster boundary issue

I think the first question is what type of staff Oyster do you hold, do you work for TfL in some fashion or is it a nominee card? If its the latter, you need to tell whomever gave you access to that card, as it may cause them issues as well

    Trainline railcards bot protection

I have to question this, how come? There are a good few retailers of Railcards, why MUST you use Trainline? Are you getting free from Monzo or something? Thats a bit odd, do you have any kind of VPN active on your phone as that might trip it up Don't see why not

Pre-court settlement offer for expired railcard

Correct me if I'm wrong, but its events in 2024, so the only option would be a civil claim

61 year-old Transport Focus board member claims for rail tickets discounted with a 16-25 railcard

I think its more referring to CCW's rules which I imagine says that tickets must be brought Standard class, but as the 1st tickets (with the railcard discount) worked out less than the full price Standard, its allowed under their rules. Not the railway rules, but internal policies

Mistakenly bought a Day return instead of an Open (period) return on Trainline. Given £57 penalty fare

When you purchased this, a screen like the attached should have appeared... it clearly states "Return same day".
