The Etches Park ones were displaced by the first 150/0s. My overriding memory of them was on the 2020 New Street - Leicester (to Cambridge IIRC) on a winters evening with it pitch black outside and the only illumination by the not very bright internal bulbs as the 120 rocked from side to side...
Depends where you are travelling to in Leeds. Anywhere on the northern side of the city centre and there is little difference once in you factor in the walk to/from the train through the station and the 10 minute frequency (if it works) means its pretty much turn up. 20 minutes gaps are usually...
Probably good job the driver did go wrong at Dishforth as otherwise it would have possibly expired somewhere on Greenhow Hill and most likely at a location where overtaking the broken bus was very awkward. Still they have next week to make up or will Dalebus have further grounds to think of...
Connexions operate a free bus service to the Sainsburys next to Harrogate Showground on Wednesdays -Fridays. Its linked off their web site "front" page but nothing on the store web site. 5 different routes either running Wednesday & Friday or Thursday only...
That explains them missing the funding bit then. So they make two attempts at it and get neither right, no doubt spending more time on stupid vehicle renumberings.
Still of this latest lot to signed etc so Tower could decide its pointless having an isolated 4 vehicle operation and back out. The alternate is whether the agreements allow sub franchising. Or will they do a 21 Transport approach and have a scattering of unkept looking vehicles outstationed in...
Indeed plus the post of digging cuttings either side. There also the adverse impact on the amenity of the Nidderdale Greenway aside from a train every so often the key feature of it, Bilton Viaduct, unless the Greenway crossed over and back again, would provide its users with a view to the west...
Also the 1440 From Ripon did not run as it started at Pateley Bridge to get to Grassington. Pity they did not react quicker to get Procters to fill in. The Abbey would have been serviced after 4 by Transdev Keighley 820 and Transdev York 821 for anyone not wanting to wait for 822 to eventually...
So a tourist in York, for example, might have known of the service from the National Trust web site but I doubt they would look at the DalesBus or EY website, or bus stop timetable displays. If they had picked up a leaflet from a tourist inforamtion display its doubtful they would have looked...
I doubt it was mentioned on Fountains Abbey leaflets available in tourist information centres and hotels etc
IMO a small repeater of a LED display should be shown on the dashboard. Whenever I have remarked to a driver that the destination is showing wrong they have thanked me and corrected it.
I agree given Transdev gave up working them from Starbeck. It was Go Ahead that won it and decided to work it out of Leeming Bar. Presumably it will end with Franchising and them being worked from a more sensibly located depot by whoever.
Aerial shows the roadway to the front of the houses to part of the alignment
Moving to towards Ripon its clear the route is well lost and terminating at the end of the available track bed is around 1.5km from the market place, a 15 to 22 minute walk. A radical solution with money no object...
I thought Procters were supposed to becoming part of North Riding. All is a total shambles but then if their priority is stupid renumbering of vehicles when they move depots having time to consider their public interaction will be limited.
Skipton to Colne is more likely that this. Admittedly it is more sensible than a barking idea a former Harrogate Council leader had of terminating trains from Leeds at Starbeck so allowing the level crossing to closed. A narrow gauge railway running from the other side of the level crossing to...
For someone how claims to have been involved in its reopening for 40 years you are missing the row of dwellings at Littlethorpe on the track bed. In those 40 years the unavailability of any micky mouse story for a main headline in the local weekly rag has invariably been filled by one on the...
