Maintaining aircon isn’t rocket science it is basic equipment and need not be massively costly, yes it does incur a bit more fuel consumption. The industry should be thinking about its customers though, how many people swear off public transport after an unpleasant journey on a hot summer day...

It is strange how the London ones never went to the islands but maybe they were too worn out.

21 out of 22 now on the road and that has got rid of all Caetano buses except for 10 of them.

Those BMC buses have done pretty well to see nearly 20 years of use, lots of people said they were cheap rubbish when new and that they wouldn’t last.

11 of the buses showing as operating now. They seem to be slow into service but maybe older buses still healthy enough to keep going a bit longer.

Is there an idiots guide to all of this somewhere? I thought it was a case of, operators supply data to local authorities, data is then uploaded to Traveline. Maybe a flowchart would be useful if one exists.

Thanks, though maybe I didn't get my question quite right, I was meaning who does data feeds the best, where everything works really well on a bus tracker web site or app. Some operators services aren't represented very well on the likes of bustimes which probably means that the bus open dataset...

There had to be something old in the fleet which first gave up it’s original reg mark, once that happened, it could be re regd again and again but eventually that was stopped and plates were made nontransferable.
