When I was taking my two disabled friends to Sheffield from Leicester to visit the National Videogame Museum (which is excellent and I highly recommend it). I relied on the FAQs.
Q. Can I use a Disabled Pass issued outside South Yorkshire?
A. English National Concessionary Travel passes issued...
I used to enjoy the EMT Saturday morning First Class Breakfast services down to London. I always thought that they were good value for money paying an additional amount to standard class in return for a really nice breakfast and a nice start to the weekend.
I wonder if they made a profit...
BBC News reporting that Leicester City Council have approved plans for the demolition of buildings to allow the redesign of the station entrance, albeit that planning permission has yet to be approved for that yet.
Thank you all for your kind comments on locations to park. I've given him the link to this thread, so he can choose from all of your kind suggestions.
Thank you all.
They are staying with relatives in Woking. They want to visit London on their way down there.
Are you suggesting that it would be easier just to travel in from Woking?
My nephew, his wife and 3 children (5, 8 & 11) are driving from Leicester to Woking on Wednesday, via M1 until J21A, then M25 off at J11) and they want to take the kids into London to the Natural History Museum. They intend catching a train/tube around 10am with return from Central London around...
I worry that this is salami slicing by the DfT. By removing the 15 minute delay criteria, what next? The 30 minute one goes next. Anything that diminishes a customer's rights is a bad thing in my book.
A few quid refund is a lot of money to some people at the moment. Goodness knows how...
I can remember buying these at the old Brighton Buses One Stop Shop when it was in Brighton station. I can also remember buying it in the tourist information centre. I could be wrong, but I thought it was issued on a blue ticket way back then. I remember the lady at the tourist information...
Are there any up and coming dates for fares workshops?
I would be interested in attending if any are planned, subject to availability and location.
Thank you
+2 for Bregenz. I used to pass though a lot when the Bregenzer Festspiele was on and they have the floating stage on Lake Constance for the opera. You can almost touch it at Bregenz station.
I've always love hearing Nuneaton Trent Valley. It always conjures up images of yesteryear akin to Brief Encounter in my mind.
As for Lincoln Central, its still on the destination board for the Leicester to Lincoln train I think.
Congratulations to everyone at Euston too, who are involved with providing some Christmas cheer today.
London Euston rail station hosts homeless for Christmas - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42477120
Happy Christmas to all, especially everyone involved in running this site and to the railways. To those of you who give your time, experience and knowledge in responding to queries and comments on here, thank you.
I had to resort to Harvey Nicholls's Cumberland Sauce as an alternative, and very nice it was too. Shame about Moniak closing down. I guess that's the last we'll see of Inverness sauce then, unless anyone knows otherwise.
Let me know if you find any.
The last time I found any was in the Victorian Market at Hastie and Dyce, or Duncan Fraser. I cant remember which. But it was made by Moniak Castle in an octagonal jar. Looking at their website, it looks like theyve stopped manufacturing it. I used to love that stuff.
How do fares on direct service trains compare to journeys where customers have to change? Are they more expensive, about the same or hard to tell?
I'm conscious that on my Liverpool to Leicester example, the walk up fares for that journey are set by a TOC, who I need not use for any part of...
