They've changed their minds again. Read that the plan now is all the Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare services will do as they do now and loop round the city either via Cathays or city line so both routes get 4tph to Cardiff Central. Meanwhile Treherbert gets 4tph to Cardiff Bay
I know its a lot more than that. Eg GWR drivers and fitters would need training etc for starts was just throwing the idea out there.
Don't forget this is the DfT stranger things havw happened
I still wonder if these 350/2's if fitted with batteries and 3rd rail collection shoes could be good for GWR around the thames valley and the north downs line etc .
If there is any left over deploy them.on say Oxford to Bristol TM
Shane 204 and 205 were scrapped one of them would have become handy right now.
Mind you the way progress is coming with that test centre in. Onnlwyn id say if 360115 is a right off then maybe a deal could be done for one of those remaining 360/2's
Just seen a few screenshot of their application for the Bristol Tm to Waterloo service basically a 2 hourly frequency which was better than what south West trains ran. It was a popular service especially if you wanted cheaper fares to london and didn't fancy national express.
Megabus even...
Tfl.got the funding for the bakerloo fleet i believe a deal should be announced later this year.
There's been rumours of a follow on order again for the central line.
Siemens also proposed finance for their new battery trains plau infrastructure
I do.think a new motorway is need speaking as a regular coach driver through that area.
I agree the.black route wasn't the correct route and labour were right ro reject it. I do think yhe previous red route which ran a bit north of the black route skipping Newport docks is the correct option
Porterbrook have a opportunity to convert their class 350s to battery maybe even tri mode if you fit 3rd rail collection shoes.
Certainly they'd be good for GWR around the thames valley if they can still do 110mph under the wires
