Two just whizzed past....so quiet compared to the old Diesels and even the 319's.

Lots of work again last night by the orangemen between Lea Green and St Helens Junction.
0200 hrs they appear to be levelling out the hangers that hold the two copper cables above the track. I'd noted that many are not parallel with the ground. Looks fixed this morning....could have done without...
In response to the earlier question about the lines being energised.
Indeed all the residents between Lea Green and St Helens Junction received a letter stating the wires would be live as from 31/12/14.
Working in a different industry from rail but nonetheless an industry that does adhere to...
FYI
0000 hrs - 0100 hrs Busy last night between Lea Green and St Helens Junction. Bright lights and bit of engine noise revealed some sort of wire crew on a cherry picker performing close inspection of wire hangers and track-side cable structures.
Curious about how they commission a new electrification.
Do they run special trains up and down as well as measuring power drops, leakage, surges...how's it done?

My home backs on to the Manchester / Liverpool Railway and just received a letter stating that the section (Ref Bootle Branch Jn to Earlstown East Jn, DSE ,1m 78ch to 14m 75ch)...
