Eurostar are installing ECTS on the 373s right now, so they're not replacing them yet. I'd be very surprised if they took them on for the interim but, they did (do?) have a shortage of available trains.
According to a Railcolour Facebook post, it looks like it's 11 units to be reactivated. That...
Haha, I wasn't being serious!
Just tuned into LBC, the new trains are mentioned in the top of the hour headlines, and at the end, the presenter says: 'rail commentators say the trains could be longer'
I do hope this is the case. Saying that, they should say that, right? It's pretty normal...
I used c2c pretty recently for the first time in years; it feels like it needs a little spruce up, but other than that, I can't say its bad at all.
To link Chelmsford, Brentwood and Basildon, presumably. Not everyone is going to London, intra-county links are vital.
Superb is stretching it...
Looks like First Group designed the interior.
Seriously though, we've got expensive 5 car *sigh*, 121m meter trains using 200m platforms on a an upgraded TransPennine. So, you can't even double them up? Have I got that right?
We all know the railway has capacity issues, and their answer is not...
That is true, it was certainly different with Burnham being PM. Likewise the (valid) Bristol Airport question.
That did make me chuckle, it seemed a bit odd to specifically say No 10 North on that one, and not SOS/GMH. Maybe North of the South Coast could be the new North...
CARS was raised at PMQs today, with the MP for Croydon East framing it as important for young people access to jobs at an expanded Gatwick, "unlocking the bottleneck". The PM replied: "...I will ask Number 10 North to get in contact her, so we can get that scheme back on track".
Read into that...
I've also been wondering what the proposal is for actual service.
It would be a little more expensive, but I can see merit having a branch to Station Road Penshaw, terminating the Green Line services there, and sending the Washington services through to Sunderland, with a turnback wherever it...
Interesting, thanks. It feels very unsurprising but counterproductive. Growing the market, as in Italy and Spain is in everyone's interest. Why they seem to determined on using as little paths as possible when there's clearly HSR demand is beyond me, but I don't think in Saint-Denis.
This is very SNCF but, Velvet and Kevin are also happening, within France. Kevin will even use LGV Nord.
How much issue have they had there, legally? I know SNCF have not been happy, but that's a usual day...
The very nice Velvet livery alone will make it more attractive than InOui...
Edit...
Hard to believe the fleet have reached 10 years in service already.
Red always looks nice to me, although feels a bit odd on Thameslink, it is named after a river after all...
Why are Siemens paying for it? Surprised by that.
I don't know the answer, but it's ok, people on the Sydenham Corridor can rely on the summer reduced Southern service...
From someone I know commuting this morning, it's been awful. Half hourly 8 car Southern trains on a route which normally has 12tph peak service (with 10 car Southern...
The decision letter is interesting.
A feeling Virgin have been favoured, particularly here (page 3):
I do wonder if there's going to be a legal battle here...
Edit: Oops accidentally posted before ready:
It has been addressed in the letter part of it here (pg 5):
One other thing I was...
Well, exactly.
It looked black to me, but it might be very dark green.
It's all such a disappointment. A simple red and white brand like the signs done properly could've looked very classy.
