I think what is needed is every new EMU, and retrofit if possible to Class 397/390 and others, has a generator set fitted that can either move the train under power to clear the...
Thats fair enough but I wonder how many of those passengers off the Pendolino were already TPE passengers off the previous 2 cancelled TPE Manchester to Scotland services before the overhead problems.
I think if staff can make a passenger smile or laugh just for a moment then great they have helped them on that journey, agree Virgin could do tacky and cringeyness very well and all too fluffy for a lot of us frontline staff as well but the majority of staff do a great job, it's the passengers...
Good piccies.
I know a bit of chaos this morning because of the overhead wire damage, and TPE cancelling Scottish services but the 397 standing room only already! 5 car not going to be enough for the future. Bad management again.
Don't know about just Scarborough, but plenty TPE cancellation this morning at Manchester End for Huddersfield, Middlesborough, Newcastle, mostly blamed on Traincrew issues (no staff) one was a traction problem. The first 2 Man Airport to Scotland were cancelled. What a farce this outfit is.

Nearly an hour late due to overhead line problems Penrith way, what is anybody's first thoughts on the 397?
Just too unpredictable to be bothered at the moment, especially on a freezing morning like today.
Hope the one 397 goes well.
0810 ex MIA 8 mins late at Preston. So it got there upto now.
One would hope things can only get better but it looks like were a long way off, TOCs and Infrastructure wise.
This is still too often a recurring thing with both TPE and Northern, cancellations or turnbacks at the drop of a hat.
I've said this before but colour and lighting can make a big difference to the interior of an Intercity train especially. There a similar product that GWR and LNER have, i've been on both TOCs Class 80x versions a few times now but much prefer the LNER interior. It's far from perfect but with...
Hopefully from tomorrow with the Class 397 Nova 2s, the Manchester - Scotland TPE service will have a train more suitable for the job, unlike the 350s not bad and better than the 185s.
Ah well, part uniform has arrived for now, maybe slightly different in the future.
The TOC emblems...Obviously, coat/polo shirt.
Just don't get the A triangle.
.
I know the signalling problems around Stalybridge today was not TPEs fault but they don't half pull the plug quickly on services and cancel them.
Would be better off with just a York - Scarborough service for one, with connections. Now there's a laugh.
