Stagecoach South West - Fleet News & Discussion

I can only hope with all the new vehicles inbound we might stop seeing the longer routes being stuck with single deckers. I saw a Solo on the 2 the other day. That's going to be a uncomfortable ride for all concerned .

I've just seen one in service on the A.

Looks like a June start date for electric services in Exeter. Torbay Weekly I've seen the training runs around Exe Bridges for the last few weeks, so hopefully all going to plan. "Late spring" for Barnstaple apparently (Torbay Weekly)

Stagecoach South West - Fleet News & Discussion

Just seen that MP for Exeter has said that the first electric services in Exeter will be starting in April. They also mentioned that the Stagecoach fleet in Exeter will be fully electric by the end of 2027.

I'm not sure if this a previously agreed sum or a new round of Zebra, but DCC has been awarded £7.5 million for more bus purchases Route One

Have there been any updates on the Exeter roll out? It's nearly a year since they were meant to have started installing the gubbins originally at the depot, but then it was seemingly delayed until late last year

I've seen on various FB groups that Torquay depot is now sending out their EV's for driver training.

Stagecoach has been using single-deckers on the 5 recently as well. When I was on it yesterday around 1630, it was full and standing by the time it left Paris Street. I get the impression they are currently using whatever is left in the depot ahead of the changeover to EVs in the new year.

Just to clarify this, the + tickets are going? That's an extra 6 quid a week for me if that's the case. Admittedly that is a ticket that covers everything, but that's a wee bit more than an inflation adjustment. Also: Has there been any mention of when the EV's will be hitting the roads yet?

Indeed. We've just had the warmest, driest spring in half a century. Who could have remotely guessed that at the start of the year? 1748873904 Bit of a shame that they arnt also running on Friday nights, but that's mainly due to my own habits

The Devon slice seems small. Possibly going for eSprinters for village runs?

I was amazed when I saw so many of them running when I was visiting home recently. When I was at Paignton, you could see the full spectrum of doubledeckers used by Stagecoach since they took over Bayline in damn near chronological order at the stands.

Does anyone know when the first electric buses are due in Devon? Think I saw something saying the ones for Torbay are due later this year, not sure about Exeter or North Devon?

It goes through some villages that are very off-the-beaten track up past Crediton. The lanes are very, very narrow.

I've been on the 0755 369 from Credition a few times this week following Stagecoach's takeover. The new Solo on it is nice. They did disable the PIS after a day, though, because everyone got annoyed with it. The main thing I have noticed though is that because it is now obviously included in...

Changing to the train at Okehampton is quicker, I'd have thought. I've not seen the timetable for the 369 from the 5th. Have they moved it around a little in the morning to avoid getting to Crediton at exactly the same time as the 5A?

The Labour Government's Buses Bill, franchising, quality contracts/partnerships, deregulation.....

I'm intrigued what routes in Torbay are being eyed up for an increase. Most of the Stagecoach routes are fairly regular, so I'm guessing it'll be more focused on the contract services being run by the smaller operators.

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

I went on the Dartmoor Explorer a fortnight ago. Bus from Exeter was fine, but the bus up from Plymouth hadn't been loaded up with fuel so a Truronian coach was sent in its stead to meet us at Moretonhampstead, which then got as far as Yelverton where it was declared unfit to continue as the...
