It released a couple of units so that the Bristol-Oxford trains could be diagrammed, I know that much. What those two units get up to on a Sunday I don't know...
There used to be 2 all day 800 diagrams on the Bristol-Worcester stoppers, but now there is only 1
One correction for the video above. It was mentioned that trains will be every 30 minutes at Charfield, same as Yate. I believe it will only be hourly, same as Cam & Dursley, due to lack of capacity on the route
Thank you Bob. As someone who's local station used to be Treforest, I will soon be doing my own filming. Wanted to wait until the 398s started daytime testing so I can get all 3 trains in 1 day, before the 150s finish
Well it looks like a 398 (or 2) has finally escaped the depot in daytime. According to realtimetrains.co.uk , the 3Q00/3Q01 Taffs Well Depot - Treherbert & return working ran this morning, and kept to the schedule
Agree with the last post. Hopefully common sense can prevail, with an agreement to allow window bars fitted to door windows in such a way that you can't lean out in a dangerous manner, but you can film and enjoy the sounds, as long as over zealous stewarding is reigned in.
The wording seemed a bit ambiguous. If the trial is successful, logically, all seating may then be fitted. On the other hand, the Turbos are due to be replaced in a few years, so who knows?
231s have been tested as far as my home town, Pontypridd. I saw an article that TfW will clear the core Valleys for 231s. Seems bizarre to me that Pontypridd gets trams, but Caerphilly gets Flirts with toilets. Will Pontypridd passengers feel they have the inferior trains ? There has...
Realtimetrains.co.uk suggests 800s on some Worcester-Bristol diagrams, not just HST 2+4 replacements. Half hourly to Yate/Gloucester AND half hourly Bristol-Keynsham-Oldfield Park-Bath-Westbury-Salisbury. Without 769s releasing Turbos for these services, trains needed from somewhere. I wonder if...
Yes it does go to Margam Yard. Not sure if still in regular use. It was used for freight diversions not so long ago. Saw a video on YouTube. I went on the line on a railtour in 1992, when the line to Blaengarw was still open. The freight diversions used a loop on the remains of the latter line...
Well Yate should have been half hourly years ago. It is large town, compared with, say Yatton and Nailsea, with their more frequent services. I live in Dursley, so I know that Cam & Dursley is less busy, and the Gloucester service to Bristol is sub-optimal, due to XC largely avoiding the time...
Because it was reported as a proposal to to start back some 387s from Swindon (Morning only) , in any case, the intention has been to clear 387s through to Cardiff as Crowdbusters for Rugby and other events..
Obviously I'm not suggesting demand from Swindon to Cholsey, Goring, Pangbourne...
I notice the 387 Swindon Cocklebury-Didcot ECS movements, seem to be via Swindon platforms for reversal. No Swindon starters in the new timetable. Will GWR start some back from Swindon once the timetable beds in, or in May?
Also, they are marked as 75mph Sprinter when empty stock, then become...
GWRs timetable for January 2019 that has been deferred included an earlier 1st Northbound local service, as others have mentioned 1st Northbound at Cam & Dursley is 0813 ! Would hope for a 0613 and 0713 (approx) when the recast happens, but GWR only announced 1 earlier service. We shall see
