Inquiry after BA jet stalls over London on approach to Heathrow

That's not what I was taught. For example. We would say "I took an alternative route because of roadworks" not "I took an alternate route because of roadworks" Two options are an alternative. You can alternate between two options. Anyway, i don't want to drag the subject off topic

Inquiry after BA jet stalls over London on approach to Heathrow

Thanks. It was a little confusing (for me) - when I saw it at first, I was thinking it meant alternating between two rules.

Inquiry after BA jet stalls over London on approach to Heathrow

I'm just curious. "Alternate law". Is that an Americanism for "Alternative law" or is "alternate" correct?

Best Schengen airports for connecting onto other Schengen destinations

Arriving at Mallorca airport Sat 25/4 around 12:00 was actually quicker than the non EES organised chaos of out last visit at the same time last October - although I appreciate there would have been fewer arrivals.

RMT strikes re: 4 day week

12pm midday. When you say only the H&C, does that mean the Met won't be running on the morning of 19th?

RMT strikes re: 4 day week

I am planning to be in London on the 18th May and travel back on the 19th May. I intend to travel prior to 12pm from Aldgate to Kings Cross. Will the strike have any impact on my current plans? Thanks

“Extreme day trippers” on the rise

Not my idea of fun really spending hours getting there only to have to turn round and spend hours getting back. The closest I've ever done is back in the 80s overnight on the boat train to Paris and back again the following evening - with a day in Paris.

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) First Class service

I've just realised that it's within a few days of 6 years since I last used LNER first class on an almost weekly basis. I have used it since but a lot less frequently since WFH.

    EU baggage allowance

We always take hold luggage. A week's worth of packing wouldn't fit in cabin luggage and I really wouldn't choose a "long weekend" wh Same. We could never do 7 nights using hand luggage and the thought of a "long weekend" when it might be a 15 hour round trip just to get to the closest warm...

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) First Class service

It's cheaper for them so what the customer might want is irrelevant as far as LNER are concerned.
