I noticed 345071 is on a Shenfield to Terminal 5 service. Shouldn't the unit be sitting in a sidings for a year or two unused like with other Operators!!?
Thank you. I have only really travelled on the Central Section of the line since it opened so unaware of the current sidings provision. It will be interesting to see how things pan out once the enhanced services are up and running. It appears to be very slick at present from my experience.
Is there insufficient space to lay new sidings at OOC to cater for the new units or at other locations? So are you saying that GWR/GA have around 10 sidings siting around doing nothing?
Do the 398s have a number at the top at the end of the carriages similar to the Pendolinos? Looking at the recent photos it appears not. Just no consideration for ' us spotters'. It would make life a bit easier at Taffs Well!
To see the back of Canton Depot you need the Aberdare service not Barry Island or Penarth. You can get off at Ninian Park and take the next service back if you miss something.

However the same units went north as came south and in both cases stops were made at the usual stations. The diagrams were classed as Express Passenger. Just seemed odd.
