Most likely a SIMRET test after brake work.

    New Ayrshire Timetable

That's pretty much it in a nutshell - I'm a driver on this route and the not stopping at Paisley on the express headcodes is certainly going to catch a few passengers out and a bit weird for us shooting through Gilmour St! From what I can gather the pattern from Glasgow is: xx00: Express to...

    scotrail DMU fleet

Haven't been driving for long but one of the most annoying things about these units are ... brake performance can differ quite a bit from each unit (sometimes from the A & B end), you can get an excellent step 2 bite in 1 unit, other times it feels like you're still in step 1 in another...

    scotrail DMU fleet

Makes sense with the recent referb on them - hope they don't stay around much longer than that!

    scotrail DMU fleet

Will the new EMU order include replacing the awful Class 314 units? As a driver of these it would nice to know if they're finally going to be replaced.

    Weather Problems

Thanks for the additional info, just spoke to my Mother who's onboard and apparently it's 2 x Voyagers in multiple and they'll be continuing to Glasgow with the front set empty? All passengers told to leave luggage and will be repatriated with it at Glasgow.

To add to issues the northbound Virgin Service 1S85 has one of its carriages on fire, somewhere North of Lockerbie Update: Fire service in attendance, evacuating passengers to rear set and setting back (not sure to where!)

    Scotrail Assesments

ScotRail use both MT4.1 & 4.2 and I think it's just what they've got scheduled to use for that assessment day. I had 4.1 when I did my assessments last year for FSR

Scotrail Jobs - Why the Delay ?

Might be of some use - When I applied last year for a trainee driver position with ScotRail here's how it went timescale wise: - July: Application submitted - August: Assessments & Managers Interview - September: Structured Interview, Medical, Conditional Offer - October: Contract and...

    Question for Drivers

Just about to start as a trainee driver. I have no prior Railway experience and I'm in my late 20s. First time I got passed the application sift (which took a few years trying) I made it all the way through first time. My previous jobs were all in IT (various roles) but I also have some private...

    Rules and Procedures (driver training)

Agree with driver9000 above, by all means take a look but don't start trying to understand it all as you could overload yourself! I'm also due to start with ScotRail soon, what's your start date?

    trainee driver medical question.

I passed my safety critical medical last week, I have mild asthma and they had no issues with that. As long as it's controllable and will not be likely to incapacitate you, you'll be fine!

    Structured Interview Questions

25 mins to fill out the form of 5 answers to the above questions. Remember to keep the written answers concise and to the point. I did my written part 1 month before my actual interview but I think that's just how ScotRail schedule it. Many assessment centres will get you to do the prep sheet...

    Structured Interview Questions

I did have a couple extra thrown in within the questions above. The only one I can remember is described a time where pressure has been applied to the use of rules & regs. I found this interview challenging but certainly not the hardest part of the assessment process.
