The only reason it was changed back to 175001 this afternoon, was due to having a few faults that needed to be seen to. Also 175001 was playing up this morning so was sent back to Laira to be rectified, which is just as well it was as 003 needed sorting.
So today no more Guards fully signed off...
Just with only a single unit in service, no more Guards can be signed off as fully competent as they need to of used the 2D Switch in a multiple formation to have Class 175 added to their Licence.
Then train is fully checked for ECS Propelling Move, with Driver from Long Rock and part of the Shunter Team controlling the propelling move from Station to Long Rock Depot
GWR, have just taken on more Trainers to the L&D Team, all of which need training up in order to be able to deliver the relevant part of the Guards Training Course. So I believe as soon as these are available the Operations Training Team will beging to get a hold of all Depot Training...
On today's training runs, the team that deal with the onboard Passenger Information System, were onboard 175003 & then 175001 ensuring that it was working correctly, so that they can enter service. Although there were some other faults with them will need sorting ready for service entry. Both...

Guards do have the abilty to do a Local Door Only, at places such as Avoncliffe due to very short platform as there are station stop board with instruction to Drivers say Do Not Release Doors, Guard Local Door Only.
At most stations where...
We can use any available door controls to dispatch a Turbo whilst in service, only issue is if there is a late runner and you have pressed the door close button, we cannot reopen the doors, and we are not allowed to let anyone in through the cab.
Doesn't help when all the students at barnstaple want to sit with their mates, who will have to board in the front at all the short platforms, will we also be getting another member of staff onboard as well.
It's normally like that, Please take into consideration the Empty Stock arriving into Paddington and then the Sleeper Hosts having to complete all there pre depature checks, including but not limited to Cabins all made up correctly, all safety systems in full working order, A/C working in...
The Stock was late off Reading Depot, then Sleeper Hosts and a few issues when doing their Pre Departure Checks/Prep. Late departure was actually due to waiting the booked TM to arrive into Paddington. They eventually arrived on 1A39. The Booked Driver was already at Paddington as I was talking...
It should be 207 as that was supposed to go when the last unit returned from Wolverton, before it was promptly returned back for rectification work a couple of weeks ago.
Try working a 3 Car Turbo on the Exmouth Line, you end up working from the Front Coach or Rear Coach as no Guards Panel fitted to the Centre Coach so depending on loadings its normally only one coach that gets fully ticket checked, having a TE is a great help.
Last nights 1A50 Up Sleepers extended stop at Exeter was due to having to Run Round to go via Exeter Central and Yeovil, also requested for it to call at Westbury due to some stranded customers any further delays I am have no info on.
