The Interrail app also has the advantage of working off-line. And being extremely fast too.
At least these were both the case when I last used it which admittedly was a few years ago.
But I agree completely - use the app, but be aware of its limitations.
(Like not always correctly showing that...
Presumably somehow this has got the response intended for people who abandon their journeys and incorrectly attempt to get their money back via delay repay rather than a refund.
I doubt that the normal process is to check delay repay requests against scan records and if none are found to tell...
I've just looked at the Man in Seat 61's web site and he says there are expected to be two trains each way to Vienna.
Not sure that would occupy 6 locomotives between Belgrade and Budapest.
I can see why there might be an engine change in Budapest even if a Vectron could run throughout if they...
I think there's supposed to be a loco hauled Vienna to Belgrade service.
Maybe this will change locomotives in Budapest.
I don't think that would need six locomotives though.
But there are two different concepts here.
Split ticketing normally refers to using two or more tickets for a journey which could be made (at greater expense) with a single ticket.
When the NRE site produces a journey that isn't on a permitted route and proposes multiple tickets then calling...
Lowest form of wit and all that...
Indeed but I think it quite plausible that in this case it was a genuine though misguided attempt at doing the right thing.
It was one of the more polite encounters I've had with security!
Neverthless it's not something that should be happening.
Overall, while it's clear from this thread that there is - to put it politely - considerable scope for improvement, I think what has been achieved so far is actually quite remarkable.
Time will tell if it's remarkable enough to stay afloat, I suppose.
There may have been a little sarcasm intended.
Anyway the person in question was polite and didn't make any attempt to prevent me walking away.
It's not a job I would fancy doing and I don't expect the pay is that great.
So far as I can see they only have a few sleeper coaches and the rest are couchettes. The "couchettes as sleeper" are just regular couchettes configured specifically, and the seated coach seems to usually be also a couchette coach.
I've just been looking at their pricing structure. There's a base price + add-ones to increase flexibility.
It's a bit disappointing that they seem to let you pay extra for a flexible ticket that can be cancelled up to a month before departure....for a train departing the next day.
On the other...
Perhaps not but if reliability increases as is usually the case after new trains have been in service a while then it becomes less of an issue.
And I think that three months into passenger service meets any reasonable definition of early days.
I appreciate that the units have been physically...
Well I like the idea of being able to travel upstairs on a direct journey from London to Germany or Switzerland. But I'm not going to hold my breath....
I've just found an interesting page on the Eurostar web site by searching for "Celestia": https://eurostarforagents.com/new-fleet which has...
