Is this ticket combination allowed or am I committing fraud?

Going back to my initial thread on the cheapest season ticket option from Harrow & Wealdstone to Epsom found here: http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=113066 Long story short since then I have opted for the monthly season ticket zone 2-6 to Epsom (any route permitted) at £185.90 a...

Why are there no ticket inspectors on national rail trains coming into london?

You can see there are multiple ways of fare dodging. Easy one oils the wireless contact card as there is no way for the ticket inspector to check. Otherwise like I mentioned in my last post with the Polish lady you can just say you accidentally didn't touch in with your oyster (or you have lost...

Why are there no ticket inspectors on national rail trains coming into london?

I overheard one on Polish woman who said that she only buys a zones 5-6 to Epsom. She gets on the Piccadilly Line from Hounslow West, a zone 5 station and goes to Clapham Junction and then straight to Epsom via Southwest trains, thereby avoiding zones 2-4. Her friend asked whether she has...

Why are there no ticket inspectors on national rail trains coming into london?

I specifically mean ticket checking at London overgroundstations/terminals. I.e. when the midlands train enters Harrow Wealdstone and goes to London Euston or the London overground from Stratford to Clapham Junction or the Milton Keynes to South/East Croydon stopping at all the London...

Why are there no ticket inspectors on national rail trains coming into london?

It seems that when a train travels within greater London, there are no ticket inspectors or if there are they don't bother to check. Also there are rail stations in Greater London that still don't have barriers. West Brompton is one example

Why are there no ticket inspectors on national rail trains coming into london?

i have noticed that generally there are NO ticket inspectors who check passengers tickets on trains like London Midlands from Watford Junction to the final stop, London Euston. Even on the south and south west trains from Clapham junction to Epsom there are NO ticket inspectors! I feel...

The only bad thing by travelling via Tolworth is that trains come every 30 minutes from Clapham Junction

Taking bus from Zone 5 to outside London zone return journey?

Will have to rule out Surbiton as it takes too long to travel to Epsom (45 minutes by bus) and its also zone 6 meaning I will have to pay more than if I travelled from Tolworth or Stoneleigh.

Hi all, I commute from harrow & Wealdstone to Epsom via Clapham junction (any rail permitted, southern and south west). My monthly paper ticket ZONES 2-6 to Epsom is £185.90. I was pondering on the idea of taking a bus from either a zone 5 or 6 station such as Stoneleigh or Tolworth...

What is my cheapest season ticket option, overground combined with London oyster?

Hello, thanks for the input. I guess I'll rule out the option for taking the bus from Surbiton Station! I had a look at the link you provided and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that weekly DaySave ticket £93 a week? That actually works out very expensive as I'll have to pay around £390 a...

What is my cheapest season ticket option, overground combined with London oyster?

Thanks for that. Yeh Harrow & Wealdstone and Kenton are the same distance from my home so easier to go Harroqw & Wealdstone and go to Clapham Junction and take SWT or Southern Rail to Epsom. For the sake of saving around £30 quid a month would you say its worthwhile to go for the inboundary...

What is my cheapest season ticket option, overground combined with London oyster?

Thanks for the clarification bb21. I don't think I'll bother restricting myself to Southern rail anyway for the sake of only saving £6 a month. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Thanks for the info. As for the season ticket EPS-Zones 2-6 that is £154 monthly, I can catch...
