Does the fact that railway lifts operate as multiple affect this? On a typical two platform station you need one lift to get to a subway or footbridge and another one for the other platform. Presumably should either lift be faulty, both are taken out of service. In a retail place with more than...
First Huddersfield's 382. Not completely useless but being scheduled at the same time as the 184 - especially on a Sunday when both services are only every two hours - rather than providing a more regular service makes it fairly pointless for most who could benefit from it.
Would that be needed in this situation? Couldn't trains be talked past signals (or authorised to proceed at a walking pace and read to stop short of any obstruction, or similar) to a suitable platform in most cases?
In the old days, the split entrance also allowed for boarding on the right hand side and using the Saverstrip cancellation machine whilst others paid cash.

There are some photos of the stricken bus here. I've seen that vehicle on RRBs throughout the TRU project.

There's been a bridge strike in Brighouse, ironically courtesy of a Rail Replacement Bus. Looking at the location I suspect it would have been empty of passengers.
(Ignore Metro's lack of local knowledge on where it was)...
I think it's diverted or bustituted at the moment due to TRU, but Huddersfield usually has a Sheffield-Manchester Airport service running through in the early morning for route retention.
Understand there is a bit of a farce at Slaithwaite this morning with trains booked to call but access to platform 2 blocked by security fencing with signs saying it will reopen early on Monday. Luckily those who departed the train were were able to alert the guard before the train left and they...
I think another angle is that it's a phased roll out, so being able to differentiate the experience on the franchised operation to the legacy operation may be important - particularly if there is different ticket validity.
On a separate note, is it just me or would the new moquette not be out...

I still remember a grumpy bus driver objecting to the £1 coin I tried to pay a 20p fare with as a kid. "It says Yorkshire Rider on the side of this bus, not Yorkshire Bank"
I wonder whether that went back in service or tipped out at Marsden? Good point about Greenfield, I was thinking it was at the other side of Uppermill for some reason.
Moorland fires between Diggle and Marsden have led to the 184 being curtailed at Uppermill. There isn't an obvious diversion route, but I wonder what the position for passengers who travelled before the closure and how can't make their return journey is?
It feels like continuing the bus to...
I was never convinced that this wasn't an error in compiling the leaflet and not what they intended.
Cross boundary travel was always going to be problematic with these insular looking Mayoralties. It would be so much better to have tickets based on each district and you can pick and mix the...
A system based on being able to select which districts you want in a ticket nationwide would be much fairer than the current system based on arbitrary political boundaries.
Living in the western corner of West Yorkshire, I'm much more interested in journeys to Oldham, Rochdale, Manchester etc...
I attended the WYCA event at Marsden Mechanics last night. (NR and TPE ironically pulled out as they could get there due to Standedge bring closed!)
Chatting to the First rep (I think it was the Network Manager) it was the usual victim card stuff, but I think I did manage to get him to...
